A bomb wrapped in a polythene bag and kept on a bicycle went off at 1830 hrs, SSP Hari Ram Sharma said.
The explosion took place near a liquor vend, he said.
Seven people, three of them children, were injured in the blast, the SSP said.
Uttar Pradesh Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Brij Lal said it was not a terror attack.

Just why is this not a terror attack? or are we going the UPA way and bury our heads in the sand to deny even calling terror by its name.

because Kanpur mein to baccha bccha desi bomb bananta hai, kabhi kabhi to kisi ke pocket mein hi phat jata hai...
Some explosions are terror attacks and some are not terror attacks ? What is the criterion ?
surprisingly the new police story hasnt come so far ..master mind some khan and syed ...simi and indian mujahideen etc..what about those two persons killed in kanpur few weeks ago while making bombs just before janamashtami..why on earth islamic terrorists need such crude and low intensity bombs when they have acess to all RDX and mega bombs and no suicide bombing this time..till how long police and authorities gonna fool indians about thse master mind and simi stories ..anyways it will be interesting to see what police has to reveal this time
