This will benefit more than 12 lakh jawans and JCOs and will be implemented from July 1.
Pune’s ex-servicemen, though elated, are not quite clear what they would gain. “We have been demanding this for long,” said Anandrao Dhumal, vice-president, Ex-Servicemen’s Association. He said that those in the ranks of jawan, naik, havildar, naik subedar and subedar major will all benefit. “However, it is not clear what the amount of cutoff pension would be for all of us,” he said.
“For long we have been drawing low salaries and now having no difference in the pension payment will bring respite. But it should have been done with retrospective affect with the UPA government having announced it before the elections,” said an ex-serviceman.
There was a huge gap between the pensions of past and present retirees after the Sixth Pay Commission while the pre-and post-October 10, 1997, pensioners were impacted by the fifth panel’s recommendations.
Anantkumar Dange, a retired honorary captain, said the OROP scales should come around Rs 14,000 for all. “It would benefit all ranks.” Now there are three bands of payment, to be now merged. The first band features sepoy to havildar at Rs 4,500 basic pension, the second band includes naik subedars and subedar majors at Rs 9,300, while the third band pays Rs 13,750 after the Sixth Pay Commission.

Why there is a discrimination with the persons who have served the Indian Navy for 10 years and also have got nine-years long service medal and not granted pension. Atleast the Govt. should consider this burning issue and grant them pension so that justice is delivered to this burning demand of exservicemen.
This is w.r.t. the sixth pay commission wherein minimum eligible period of pension is 10 years.I have served the indian navy from 1976 to 1986(10 years)but without pension. Why this discrimination. Why there is no uniformity.
I want to know that when will we get these benefits
Should an Army Officer who joined the post of Director in an autonomous Body fully funded by the Government at the age of 46 years, after rendering 24 years of commissioned service, be liable get his military pension deducted from the pay of the post of Director for which there was no age concession and the maximum age of entry was 50 years ? Can SWAMY NEWS answer this to benefit many ex servicemen as there is no such deduction of pension for retired IAS , IRS, IA&AS and other officers similarly placed
Dear Sir, I would like to know that the Present Ruling Govt. have declared that One rank one pension would be applied immediately to all ex-servicemen. I had served 15 years in Indian Navy and retired on completion of 15 years of engagement in 1997.(During 5th Pay Commission). I am loser of getting pension at par with other colleagues whereas this new above quoted declaration has not been yet implemented. I want to know that when this will be benefitted to all ex-servicemen?

it seems that the exact meaning of one rank one pension has not been followed. we have been suffering alot due to low pension and less opportunity of jobs prevailing for last several years.as per 6th crpc the new pension arised to be rs.12500 apx.to a rank sergeant after 20 years of service.but what about the pre 2006 pensioners? they are not going to get the same who have have come out of service during pre 1996. certainly not.hence this has become prejudice in case of old pensioners.

I have put up about sixteen years of service in indian Navy and retired in 31st January 1979, in the rank of Petty Officer. I want to know how much pension I should receive. I am presently receiving only 4060/- per month. Is it OK?. Can some one help me to know this?
No clear details has been given, how much to whom. Govt. wants to wash the hands to cool down what is going on.
Last para, 3rd line - The rank " Naib Subedar has been wrongly mentioned as "Naik Subedar" which may be noted for future please
