New Delhi, October 6: Reacting sharply to Amar Singh raising questions over the death of Delhi Police Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma, who was killed in an encounter in New Delhi, the slain Sharma's family refuses to accept a cheque given by the SP leader.

The Inspector's father Narottam Sharma said he was sad at the comments made by Singh, who has given a cheque of Rs ten lakh to the family after the officer's death.

"We will not accept the cheque. He is talking rubbish," the senior Sharma said.

Raising questions over the encounter in Jamia Nagar in which the Inspector and two suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists were killed, Singh has said Sharma was transferred from Special Cell before the encounter took place.

Singh, who offered a cheque to Sharma's family, had also visited Jamia Nagar and demanded a judicial probe into the encounter.

"My son was not transfered from Special Cell. Who told him? How can a responsible leader like him can say such things?" Sharma asked.

Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat also said Sharma was not transfered from the Special Cell, the elite anti-terror wing of Delhi Police.

Meanwhile, a group of people protested outside Singh's residence at Lodhi Colony here and shouted slogans against the Samajwadi Party leader for his comments on Sharma.

Amar's Vote bank politics by Bhanu on 06 Oct 2008

Mr. Narottam Sharmaji, we are with you, what you did by rejecting the cheque given by So called secularist Amar singh is very much appriciable and 100% correct. These politicians who speak without any basis and who are biased for a particular comunity wihtout looking at national interest and security be first hanged in public places. then only the problems of India will get solved. Shame onthe part of the these policians and the media which always comes in support of them.. atleast once in a while think of country rathern than always on vote bank................

Amar Singh talks rubbish by Borun Chowdhury on 06 Oct 2008

Well the answer is simple. Amar Singh is NOT a responsible leader but just a highly greedy politician (for votes in this case).

Family of slain Delhi cop refuses to accept cheque from Amar Singh by G Krishnamurthy on 06 Oct 2008

The family definitely needs the money, but their behavior has been exemplary. They have refused to accept money from Amar Singh, who had made wild and unsubstantiated allegations against the police in his effort to corner the Congress. However, I had just one observation about Narottam Sharma's observation - since when has Amar Singh been classified as a 'responsible' leader? He has always been irresponsible.

Sharmas rejection of cheque. by S.Ramamurthi on 06 Oct 2008

The votebank beggar politicians will go to any extent to retailn the vote bank. Unfortunately in India such poeople are considered secular! Sharmas have rightly refused to accept a cheque from one such person. If people shun such people with out any consideration for cast community etc. such politicians will get reformed.
