Gurgaon, January 10 Crime Investigating Agency (CIA) of the Gurgaon police today arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a Faridabad-based jeweller in November last year. Though the main accused, Hitender Kumar, is still at large, CIA officials are confident that they will be able to arrest him soon.

According to S-I Naresh Kumar Yadav, in charge of Sector 46 CIA, “We got a tip off that the accused were still using the deceased's vehicle. We have been on the look out for the car and today we arrested the accused on the old Faridabad Road while they were trying to enter Gurgaon.”

There are four accused in the case — 27-year-old Hitender, a resident of Kashipur, who is still on the run, 25-year-old Mohit from Moradabad, 22-year-old Sudhir Saini from Muradabad and Abid. The police recovered the car, two country made guns and two rounds bullets from the accused. "We are yet uncertain about Abid's involvement in the murder, but we are interrogating him further," Yadav said.

On the intervening night of November 16-17 last year, owner of RK Jewellers in Faridabad Raj Kumar was kidnapped and murdered in his Wagon R somewhere between Faridabad and Gurgaon. His body was recovered near Paras Hospital in Sector 43, Gurgaon, the day after.

Mohit and Saini told the police that Hitender had masterminded the robbery, kidnapping and murder of Kumar.

On the day of the incident, Hitender had visited the jewellery store claiming to buy numerous sets for an upcoming family marriage.

He allegedly told Kumar that he needed to get his parents approval and because his parents could not come to the shop he would like to take some specimens and show it to them. Raj kumar agreed to go with Hitender to show the jewellery and finalise the purchase, but was soon gagged and shot by Hitender while Mohit and Sudhir overpowered him.
