What's the easiest way to beat a competitor? Do everything at express speed. “Develop things you think will get business and supply them before anybody else does,” says Mayank Gupta, Manager, Product Development, GlobalLogic, as he builds upon the concept of Agile community, that has over 150 members enrolled from the city. “The concept helps develop software quickly and has the efficiency rate to the extent that we can develop a website in just two days. The software facilitates lightweight methodologies in software development,” Gupta tells us, stressing that this is the reason they have now formed the Agile group.

“Here, Agile enthusiasts, who are curious to learn more about Agile Software Development (ASD) Framework, exchange thoughts and ideas,” chips in Vikram Dhaman, Product Manager, Wiziq, adding that companies like Infosys, Fidelity, Net Solutions and Quark are fast turning to the form of methodology. Proving its popularity is the fact that the introductory workshop on Agile held in Quark City on Wednesday by the Chandigarh Chapter of Agile Software Community of India (ASCI) was a hit. With representatives from well-known companies like Gray Cell Tech, Intelliagia, AuthorStream and Paxcel Technologies participating in the workshop, among others, the event had two key note addresses on Distributed Development and Agile and Introduction to Lean Thinking.

“With chapters in all major IT cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi and Chandigarh, Agile Software Community of India is spreading awareness about the subject through sessions on its various aspects. To keep the Indian IT industry abreast of new developments in ASD, ASCI conducts these sessions free of cost,” says Harman Singh, CEO, WiZiQ.
