New Delhi Flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International airport were normal on Friday.

The bright and sunny morning allowed the flights to arrive and depart from the national capital as per their schedule, sources said.

Five early morning flights to Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai were cancelled due to low passenger load and also in anticipation of fog.

The general visibility remained over 250 metres while the runway visibility range remained around 1500 metres for the main runway and around 700 metres for the new runway, Met department officials said.

A foggy morning played spoilsport for air travellers on the New Year day as about 200 flights were delayed by several hours while 25 were cancelled and five diverted to other destinations.
