Only around 10 acres of area of Phase-I and II of RGCTP is left for allotment. The area has six built-to-suit units and a small campus site.
The allotment of this area is expected to be done by the end of March. The administration has received 31 applications for seven sites. Companies like Mobera Systems, which is based in the Silicon Valley, US, are running their projects in Chandigarh.
The allotment of sites will be made through a draw of lots.
RGCTP will open around 60,000 direct and more than 1.8 lakh indirect job opportunities.
Some prominent companies, which have shown interest in RGCTP include REI Systems, a private firm specialising in turn-key, web-enabled solutions that manage complex business processes. For the last more than a decade, the company has been delivering solutions to federal government agencies and commercial firms, including National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the US Department of Justice, the US Department of Defense, Raytheon STX, and Allied Technology.
Reliance Communications is likely to set up a call-centre on DLF campus. The project is almost at the final stages. The call centre will employ around 2,000 people.
