London Freida Pinto had a secret wedding in Goa in 2007 with Rohan Antao, a Mumbai-based marketing executive, but the Slumdog Millionaire actress dumped him recently, media claimed today.

According to a report in The ‘Daily Telegraph’, the couple married in an "impulsive" wedding in December 2007 but Pinto kept it a secret in order to gain good film roles.

Rohan is said to be "heartbroken" after Pinto ended their relationship last month, citing the pressures of new new-found fame. They had been together since 2004, when both were studying in a Mumbai college.

Quoting a friend, the report said, "Freida and Rohan fell in love at the college and were extremely close. The marriage was an impulsive decision".

Rohan was always with her when she was not famous at all. He supported her during the filming of 'Slumdog' and they celebrated its success at the Toronto Film Festival together last year, the friend said.

"However, she just stopped calling him around the time of the Golden Globe awards, when the film started to make waves internationally. He is completely shocked at being dumped and is heartbroken," the report added.

'Slumdog Millionaire' won four Golden Globe awards in January, including for the best picture.

According to the report, yesterday at his home Rohan accepted that the couple had married in Goa but declined to give details.

Pinto's Indian agent, Meenakshi Gehani, said "we do not want to comment. However, if she is married then whoever is claiming should produce a marriage certificate."

The Oscar-nominated 'Slumdog Millionaire' is Pinto's first film and she is planing to relocate to New York in pursuit of Hollywood roles, it said.
