GCG campus abuzz with Tech Zeal

The Department of Computer Applications of Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh, organised TECH ZEAL 08: A Kaleidoscope of Inter-College Competitions. The fest was inaugurated by Dr Anu Gupta, chairperson, Department of Computer Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, by lighting of the ceremonial lamp along with Promila Kaushal, principal of the college. Addressing the students on this occasion, Dr Gupta highlighted the relevance and significance of inter-college competitions in the modern age and discussed the latest paradigm of Open Source Technology.

The campus of the college was abuzz throughout the day with huge participation from students of various colleges of the region.

“Switching jobs-better opportunity and career stability in future” was the topic of Cross Talk, a debate competition. Integration- the collage-making contest was held on “Future Trends in IT”.

The Paper Presentation on the topic 4G Mobiles was highly informative as the participants threw light on the future trend of the mobile technology. Competitions such as debugging, poster-making, software development, graphic designing, website development and mouse drawing brought forward many innovative ideas of the young minds. The audience also enjoyed brain wave-the IT Quiz and Instant Click-the Extempore contest.

Along with education and information entertainment was also taken care of. The choreography and the skits presented by the participating teams were thoroughly enjoyed and applauded.

Pardeep Chhabra, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, graced the prize giving ceremony. Pardeep Walia, Head of the Computer application Department, GCG-11, proposed a vote of thanks to the guests and the participants.
