Harbir Kaur Rao, who is professor of medicine and in-charge of Cardiology Department at the Government Medical College, Patiala, has been the recipient of numerous other medals and honours in academics by a number of social organisations under the Red Cross. He has held numerous responsible positions in the institute. He is reckoned as an authority on diseases like bird flu and dengue.
