In her reply to the judge’s question, Arshee Khosla had said that she would like to bring about a change in this cricket-dominated country and would try to uplift other sports if she was made the Prime Minister for a day.
Saanya Ojha, a student of Class VIII in Vivek High School, was the first runner-up and Sukaran Sain Thakur from Kullu was the second runner-up.
Along with the titles, the first three winners also won a laptop, digital camera and an i-pod respectively.
The Young Global Leaders Contest was organised for students from cities across India. The profiles of students from all the schools across the tricity were uploaded on the website from January 26 to February 20 this year. They were then opened for voting by online visitors.
Top students were selected for the grand finale which was held on March 8 this year in PU’s Law Auditorium. The judges were renowned personalities from various fields: Punam Khaira, senior DR Income-Tax, Chandigarh, Jithendra Mohan, Professor Emeritus in Psychology, PU, Dona Suri, Editor HT weekly magazine and artist Nek Chand.
