Noida, February 8 The Noida police on Friday arrested eight men in connection with the theft of computer parts and data from the Reliance Energy office in Sector-63 last month. Police said the gang had been operating in the city for the past few months and had stolen parts from at least 12 other offices and sold them in the grey market. SP (City) Rakesh Gautam said, “We had received information from a few shop-owners in Sector-18 of a group trying to sell a large number of computer parts at low rates. The shop-owner was asked to distract them and a team was dispatched to nab them.” The arrested men — Ranjit, Ashok, Duldul, Sarjit, Vikram and Narendra Singh along with two other men — have confessed to such thefts, said police. O P Chaudhary, SHO of the Sector-20 police station said, “With the equipment recovered, we were able to establish that they were the gang who robbed the Reliance office.”
