Patna RJD chief Lalu Prasad denounced Delhi High Court's ruling decriminalising gay sex and felt the Centre should appeal against the judgement in the Supreme Court.

"Gay sex should not be legalised at any cost and the Centre should appeal against the verdict in the Supreme Court. I am dead against legalisation of gay sex and will strongly raise the issue in Parliament. Section 377 of the IPC should not be amended," Prasad said.

Asked whether homosexuality is still a crime, he said: "Yes, it is a crime... Such obscene acts should not be allowed in our country. The society is adversely affected."

"Such things which affect the society should not be permitted at all... Government has a greater responsibility towards the society," Prasad said.

"I don't want to talk about such rubbish things. These are obscene things which our country and culture do not permit," he said.

The Delhi High Court had on Thursday legalised gay sex among consenting adults holding that the law making it a criminal offence violated fundamental rights.

kids more than two should not be legalised by Dee on 04 Jul 2009

A family having kids more than two should also be kept in bars. It is an opportunity to control the population since our government is failed to di8stribute condoms to minorities.

GAYS AND LALU by Inderjit on 04 Jul 2009

Lalu is an true Indian culturally. Why follow the West (a degenerate society) blindly? Learn good things from the West, Science, technology, etc but do not compromise our culture blindly and become followers. The Gay people must not be molested but to bring them in the streets to corrupt our kids will never be tolerated in India. Stay culturally Indian.

Lalu the Alloo by kk on 04 Jul 2009

It is time Lalu shut up and got down the reality of 21st century. He looted Bihar hell a lot and the people of Bihar have realised now how he made plenty of Alloos from the scam. This ugly looking, ill mannered, goonda of first degree, keep changing his tune for his personal gain. He is happy with his cows and bulls why object to others in choosing partners of their liking.

Thanks Lalu by Dev on 04 Jul 2009

I support YoU Mr Lalu. Gays are not Human being. They are just diseased soul. And they can not understand that they are suffering from that disease.

Vinnie, the poohhh.. by Kalidas M on 04 Jul 2009

Vinnie the pooh,Learn to discern truth from untruth. If some one is right first time in his life as regards public announcements, he needs to be encouraged. In the meantime, who is stopping you from your gay galores? Go get your unworldly pleasures whatever they are (spare me the details, please), you have a solid backing of the law now, do you not? God bless.

GAY MARRIAGE - AN UNETHICAL RELATIONSHIP by shafiuddin on 04 Jul 2009

Firstly the relationshipship of Gay is an unatural relationship, if you would like to break the natural system then you will fact wrath of the nature. Gay marriage should be permitted and to be considered as punishable act. It is unethical relationship, government should not be succumbed to the few of the people. In fact Indian cultural is following the western style, all the western practice is not good and we should keep up our ethical/religious values. If the soceity encourages what the girls to do, it is a kind of insultation to the wemen. Government should stop talking promoting gay like relationship.

Mr Lalu ji - How about Corruption/Black money /Cast politics ? by Sankar on 04 Jul 2009

Article 377 is a tool used by law enforcements to harass transvestites and likes. God created most people normal but there are aberrations in nature too. We know that and, we cannot treat these people as second class using article 377 Quote " ...Those perceived by the majority as “deviants' or 'different' are not on that score excluded or ostracised.""Where society can display inclusiveness and understanding, such persons can be assured of a life of dignity and non-discrimination." This was the 'spirit behind the Resolution' of which Nehru spoke so passionately.Mr Lalu ji's quote - "Such things which affect the society should not be permitted at all.." – How about abolishing - Corruption/Black money /Cast politics, to name a few, society should not permit ?

Lalu does not want Gays ... by Mahesh Naik on 04 Jul 2009

Laloo and his diarrohea of words...... by citizen on 04 Jul 2009

Laloo, the semi literate MP from India's badlands of Bihar, seems to have an opinion on everything under the sun ranging from Mamata's railway budget to the suitability of Sonia Gandhi as PM to the complicated question of homosexual sex! We all know his qualities.....requisitioning brand new cars from car showrooms for his daughter's wedding and looting of the Bihar state treasury for his own gain. The present state of Bihar is entirely his doing....and Nitish Kumar is expected to clean up......Laloo is now a dead mouse, he had better shut his gob or else we the Bihari people will sew up his mouth for him and throw him on the dung heap!

Stupidity and Ignorance... by Vinnie on 04 Jul 2009

If this Lalu fellow was a lawyer, it casts an embarrassing shadow on education and examination of jurists in this country. His comments show that neither he has any idea of the role or content of the constitution, nor does he seem to understand the role and purpose of the judiciary in a democracy. He will certainly not have read the actual 105 page judgement, which should be most plausibe and conclusive to every lawyer (unless he chooses to ignore it of course). Neglicence rules with our politicians - and do not even get me started on humanistic virtues...

Article 377 by Ananth on 04 Jul 2009
