Pune’s Aniket Saghavi, captain of the winning team was quite elated as his team had comfortable margins in most of the boards. The losers’ skipper Prashant Sriram conceded tdhat not fielding their best four in an earlier segment cost the team dear.
With this victory, Aniket hoped this time he would be able to be part of the Indian junior side. Leading Coach Ramakrishnan, said there was scope for improvement of the lads as of the 40 odd participants, there were about 10-12 top level players, who showed promise.
Ayan Mandal from IIT (Kharagpur) finished with a 60.23 per cent score to win the individual event. Jenish Shah, an engineering student from Mumbai finished runner-up with score of 59.94 percent.

Prajwal S (IIT, Chennai); 6. Aniket Sanghvi (Pune). Pairs event: 1. Swarnendu Sil/Aninda Bhattacharya (Kolkata); 2. Pravin Kashalkar/Jenis Shah; 3. Rishabh Singh/Mithun Mukherjee; 4. Sabyasachi Sadhukan/Ardijit Hazra; 5. Anurag Mohta/Aniket Sanghvi; 6. Raghvir Nadig/Avin Mital. Team of Four Duplicate: Winners : Golden Eye (Ayan Mandal, Soumya Das, Aniket Sanghvi, Anurag Mohta, Pravin Kashelkar). Runners-up: IIT Madras A (Guthi, Prashant Shriram, Angad Singh, BVS Prajwal, Ashok Gurumurthy). Losing semi-finalists : Aces High and Dark Horses.
