Chandigarh, March 17 Both, the present management committee and the inquiry committee, of the Chandigarh Golf Club are headed for collision course. The inquiry committee has found serious financial irregularities in the club administration.

In a meeting held at the club today, the management committee has said that the inquiry report is biased.

Said Golf Club Captain Sukhi Lehal, “In the meeting, it was recorded that a deliberate attempt has been made in the report to legitimise the activities of the previous committees and an attempt has been made to give them a clean chit... It also seems that maligning the management committee was predetermined. That is why, in spite of the objections from a large section of members, it was decided in the emergency committee meeting that members of the inquiry committee should not have any inclination towards any group”.

Lehal said the management committee will give a detailed reply of the inquiry report and present it before the general house. For this, another meeting has been fixed for March 20.

Said P S Hura, chairman of the inquiry committee, “This inquiry committee has very honestly, sincerely and in an absolute unbiased manner, looked into the working of the present management committee as per the directions of all the members as decided in the EGM on January 13. As far as the working of previous committees is concerned, it was out of the purview of the inquiry committee. In spite of repeated attempts by certain members and also the management committee, we have not looked into the working of previous committees. This committee has not passed any judgement on the functioning of the previous management committees. It is now for the general house to take a final call on March 23”.
