The talent hunt, which began from the Lucknow University Ground on December 21, was organised at the City Montessori School Ground at the Kanpur Road on Saturday, before making its final destination at the Chowk Stadium on Sunday.
Among them over a dozen youths were identified as potential ones for the main qualifying rounds of the event to be held at New Delhi in February. According to the organiser Vaibhav Bhasi most of the contestants were throwing at speed of 80 MPH and 85 MPH.
In the qualifying rounds, the qualifiers will have to throw at a minimum speed of 80 MPH. The winner of the finals will be a contestant who throws the most strikes of all finalists out of 10 chance with a speed of at least 90+ MPH. For this win, the winner will get a prize money of USD $50,000.00.
“The event got a tremendous response in and around the Lucknow city, and we have discussed the issue with some local sports bodies, where the young enthusiasts can hone their talent further before the main qualifying rounds,” Vaibhav said.
“Some of the boys were outstanding. And one of them even crossed the 85 MPH barrier, which was really amazing.”
As far as the event is concerned, the TMDA talent hunt is to find the most powerful arm in the country. The contest carries prize money of up to $1,000,000 (US Dollars) for the winner.
The organisers further informed that the winner will be trained in the US for 12 months before being scouted by Pro Baseball teams for a pro-sport career in baseball.
The event was organized by the PDM International, One of South Asia and Middle East’s largest sports entertainment and event marketing and management company and 7 Figures Management, a California based Sports & Talent Marketing & Management.
