Mumbai, August 28: Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt feels that the success of Ram Gopal Varma's latest horror flick Phoonk has made his forthcoming production Raaz-the mystery continues, the most anticipated movie of this genre in 2008.

"What differentiates Raaz-the mystery continues from other horror flicks is the blockbuster music. It's quite difficult to have moments which run a chill down your spine and music that warms up your heart in the same movie," Bhatt said.

According to him, if the response to Phoonk is anything to go by, it shows that cine goers want quality entertainment - the genre of the movie is quite incidental.

In terms of entertainment, they will lap up a quality horror flick as much as a comic caper or an adrenaline pumping action movie, as long as it entertains them, Bhatt said.

Speaking about the horror genre, Bhatt said there was a phase in the 60s and 70s when some outstanding horror or thriller movies like Madhumati, Mahal and Woh kaun thi enthralled the audiences to become the biggest hits of their times and classics forever.

The 80s and 90s with bad masks and makeup, worse performances and sleaze creeping into them, saw a phase which relegated horror as a genre to ‘B grade’ films, he added.

Bhatt expressed confidence that Raaz-the mystery continues will break the record. Starring Emran Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman, the film has music by Pritam and is directed by Mohit Suri. It will release in November, 2008.
