Mumbai Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray met Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir early on Friday morning after being summoned over vandalisation of Mumbai University premises.

Earlier this week, leaders of the MNS' student wing had vandalised properties at the universty's South Mumbai campus after allegedly being denied permission to hold talks with the vice chancellor.

MNS wanted to raise objections over the inclusion of social sciences and languages - Hindi, Marathi, Urdu and other languages - for students pursuing Bachelor of Arts. Six leaders were arrested following the vandalism

Jamir, in his capacity as chancellor of universities in the state, had summoned MNS chief to discuss ransacking of Mumbai university's registrar chamber over the issue of "neglect" of Marathi students.

Governor jamir should be sacked for his unconstitutional act. Why did he call Raj to his office instead Jamir should have asjked to arrest Raj and cases should have been filed. jamir is again a Congress hand-picked person and going soft on Raj to counter Shiv Sena. Shame on Governor Jamir,,

MumbI University Vandalism.... by k p chandra on 30 Jan 2009

Many a times the issues raised by Raj Thakre appear to be correct, but his way of talking and languages used by him lands him into trouble. While in a country like India, people should be allowed freely to travel and to do business and jobs in any part of the country, too much migration from one part to another is bound to cause varieties of problems and work against the federal structure of our constitution where states have been formed on linguistic and other topographic considerations. If people from other Indian states cannot own property or settle inJ

Terrorist organisation like LET must be happy, that now they don't have to do any thing to destroy India. They have got support from parties like MNS, VHP and bajrang dal who help them indirectly in there purpose, that too without any financial support

Vandalism by MNS by AnIndianToo on 30 Jan 2009

I totally agree with you. I think MNS, VHP, Bajrang Dal etc. etc. are really doing the LeT's job in a way. The more regressive India becomes the better for these organizations!

Raj Thackeray by VAIBHAV on 30 Jan 2009

Raj Thackeray is pretty much an enemy of civilization. A modern, progressive nation can do away without these idiots.

MNS menace by KVSKumar on 30 Jan 2009

Nothing will happen. In our country organised and powerful groups can do anything and they can get away with it too. At this rate only God save our nation.
