Representatives of these organisations urged the Chief Minister to redress their grievances relating to power and taxation.
Taking part in the deliberations, Badal categorically said that the SAD-BJP government was committed to boost industry in the state by creating Investor-friendly environment in terms of un-interrupted power supply and world- class Infrastructure. He said that Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) had issued guidelines regarding electricity supply code, yet to be implemented by the state government.
He assured the representatives that the advance consumption deposit (ACD) as per the supply code would not be revised for at least one year and also mentioned that the interest would be paid on their ACD already deposited with Punjab State Electricity Board with effect from January 1, 2008.
The Chief Minister also constituted a committee under the Local Government and Industries Minister Manoranjan Kalia with each representative from different industrial organisations based at Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Kapurthala, Phagwara, Mandi Gobindgarh, Amritsar and Bathinda to settle the long-pending matter regarding NOC to commercial establishments.
