“I request the government to talk with the Kenyan government to ensure the safety of Indians there, just like it did with the Nigerian government when Indian nationals were abducted there. Only the government can play an active role in this case,” said Anil.

Anil and his son Dhanesh are in regular contact with Radhika and Sachin since the ethnic clashes broke out in aftermath of the presidential elections in that country. Radhika and Sachin were staying in Ruiru place in Nairobi city, and now have been shifted to a safer place in Nakuru where Sachin’s father stays.

Dhanesh said, “When we learnt that the ethnic riots broke out in Kenya we tried to contact Radhika. She said they have now moved to a safer place. They have stocked the essential items in the house. Sachin’s father is a member of the Kenya Gujarati Samaj and is having good contacts with officials in the Kenyan Government.

He said police personnel have been deployed in every sensitive areas.
