Kolkata, November 6 Reacting on the sting operation carried out by Tehelka a few days ago to expose the complicity of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi duirng the Godhra pogrom, Trinamool Congress leader Partho Chatterjee (in picture) demanded that Modi should be removed.

“Gujarat has become a terrorist state under Modi,” he said. He talked about the plight of the Muslims and other minorities in Gujarat and appealed for justice for victims of the “genocides” in Gujarat, Nandigram and Singur.

The sting operation has stirred the Muslim community in the city. The Maulana Shaukat Ali Foundation has asked Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi to look into the matter.

Foundation head Jameel Manzer said: “We are going to appeal to the Centre through the Governor for immediate arrest of Modi.” The foundation submitted a memorandum to the Governor.

Foundation general secretary Ayaz Ahmed added that every institution in Gujarat, from the police to the judiciary has been “ruined” by Modi. They demanded trial of the culprits, rehabilitation of the victims and government jobs for one of the members of the affected families.

“The carnage in Gujarat could well be compared to a holocaust. Modi ordered his party cadre to annhilate the Muslims within three days. It is shameful,” said renowned Urdu journalist Sayed Ali.
