In the first case, Justice Banerjee asked Sandip Chakraborty and his wife Mousumi to go on a vacation to Jairambati for two days with their six-month-old daughter. Justice Banerjee also arranged for their stay in a guesthouse at Jairambati.
Sandip and Mousumi had parted ways three months ago and Mousumi was staying with her parents in Burdwan.
Sandip, a resident of Hooghly, had filed a petition in the district court to get the custody of his daughter.
When the case reached the HC, the counsel of Sandip had informed the Bench on July 26 that reunion of the couple was not possible.
During the hearing on Wednesday, both Sandip and Moushmi expressed their desire to stay together again, following which the court directed them to go on a sojourn.
In another case, Subir Pande and Adwitiya had parted ways in 2005 after a year of their marriage. Adwitiya had left Subir with their only son. The couple had recently filed a petition for divorce.
During the hearing on Wednesday, when Justice Banerjee asked the couple to resolve their differences, Adwitiya said she wanted to stay with Subir in a cordial atmosphere. The court then directed Subir to consider the grievances of his wife and take her to his home.
