Kolkata, March 13 The Calcutta High Court pulled up the Kolkata police on Thursday and directed the Deputy Commissioner (Central) and officer-in-charge (OC) of Burrabazar police station to appear before the Bench with proper documents in connection with a petition filed by a businessman alleging forcible closure of his shop by the police.

Justice Debasish Kar Gupta said the policemen were not following the court's earlier order. The judge said the documents placed before the Bench were not genuine.

Justice Gupa also directed the state home secretary to ensure that the concerned police station submits the records as ordered by the court.

Madhusudhan Sharma had filed a petition alleging that two constables of the Burrabazar police station — R Mishra and P K Mondal — forcibly shut down his shop in May last year without a court order.

On Wednesday, the court had asked the OC, Burrabazar to appear before the court today with the records.
