Harbhajan an obnoxious little weed: Hayden

Hobart, February 26: Harbhajan Singh on Tuesday came under a fresh attack by Australian cricketers with opener Matthew Hayden calling the off-spinner an ‘obnoxious little weed’, a remark which has the potential to create more bad blood between the two teams.

The Indian spinner, who was at the centre of a racism row involving Andrew Symonds, has borne the brunt of the Australian sledging during the explosive tour which has been marked by a series of verbal exchanges between rival players.

“Its been a bit of a long battle with Harbhajan, the first time I ever met him he was the same little obnoxious weed that he is now”, Hayden said on Brisbane radio.

“His record speaks for itself in cricket. There is a certain line that you can kind of go to and then you know where you push it and he just pushes it all the time.

“That’s why he has been charged more than anyone that’s ever played in the history of cricket,” Hayden said.

Hayden’s fresh salvo came a day after the Indian team management lodged a written complaint with Match Referee Jeff Crowe regarding Australia players’ “provocative” behaviour.

Hayden and Harbhajan were involved in an ugly tussle at the SCG on Sunday with the Indians claiming that the Australian opener had termed the Indian a “mad boy.”

However, Hayden made light of the incident and claimed India was complaining because “they are losing every game they are playing.”

“I called him a bad boy,” Hayden insisted.

“He took offence to that, I thought that was quite funny. I said mate you should be flattered, it’s a clothing range,” Hayden said.

Meanwhile, former Australian fast bowler Rodney Hogg also lashed out at the Indians.

“Ive really had a gutful of their whinging, this is international sport, obviously people are going to say things to try to unsettle you,” Hogg said.

“It’s not tiddlywinks. So long as it’s not racial they shouldn’t have a problem.

“As far as I am concerned if the heat is too hot in the kitchen then that’s too bad.

“I reckon they should appoint an Asian referee for Indian games because when it’s a non-Asian referee nothing against Jeff Crowe they never feel as if they are being listened to.” Hayden said he had told Ishant Sharma to settle down and yesterday quipped he would like to meet the stringbean paceman in a boxing ring.

“He is just young. I have said to him many times, you are 19, take it easy, Hayden said.

“At the end of the day you are 19, why dont you just worry about your bowling for a while,” he added.

OBNOXIOUS HAYDEN by namrata on 27 Feb 2008

The ageing australian cricket players are nothin' but a bunch of jokers who keep makin a fool of themselves! they're a set of uncultured n frustrated ugly old men who're terrified of the young n confident indian team....and there's every reason for these losers to be scared of India! India is the new world champion...as for these stupid ol' aussies...all they get is the tag of 'WORLD CHAMPIONS IN SLEDGING' . The best strategy to deal with these clowns wud be to totally ignore em....which is exactly what the supercool indian team is doin!!! Way to go, Dhoni

world champions? by waxer on 28 Feb 2008

This post is hilarious. What planet do you live namrata? Australia has been world champions for many years now, everyone in the world seems to know that except you! The shame is that this Indian cricket team is a very good one that has been very competitive through the summer here-unfortunately, noone will remember that, they will just be remembered as a bunch of whingeing sooks who cry and want to go home like small children every time something doesn't go their way.

Pathetic Aussies by Anurag on 28 Feb 2008

Waxer, we live on the same planet as every normal human being does, but you don't seem to be aware that Indian cricket team are the world champions in the 20-20 cricket...guess you tend to ignore any format of the game where the boorish Aussie team has been beaten by others. And yes, you are right that it is a shame that this tour will be remembered for non-cricket things...and the full blame for that is with the whining Aussie team, who just can't take the fact that finally somebody is standing up to their bullying, gutter-level behaviour. Bhajji rightly said, they see that the crown is slipping, and they are reacting to that...and how pathetically!

kangaroos by keshav ranganath on 27 Feb 2008

austrailians give kangaroos a bad name as much they do fosters beer which probably is the only thing they can boast of. ipl should boycott the bad mouthing racist austrailians. what is the use of freedom if we cannot express it? if someone can call bhajji a bad boy or use four letter words, whats wrong in calling symonds a monkey, or ponting an idiot or hayden or kumble a bastard?

Racism by Sumer Khan on 27 Feb 2008

Will R.P. Singh’s family come and eat in Irafan Pathan’s home or will Ishant Sharma allow Zaheer Khan to marry his sister. No. Who are racists now

Punish the criminals by Indi on 27 Feb 2008

Barking dogs seldom bite. Only mad dogs start barking and bite at there Masters. Hayden, symonds, ponting are now at the mercy of Indian businessmen. They are a different kind of beggers who abuse there masters. Bhajji should file a defamation case against a lizard look alike hayden. Australia was the dumping yard of criminals for britishers. So hayden's ancestors are sure to be one among them and hayden being a big bad criminal is continuing to behave that way. When a dog like hayden barks at an elephant like bhajji, its the dog who wastes its time. We Indians are keen to sponser hayden to help him undergo a mental stability test.

Insults by waxer on 28 Feb 2008

Why abuse a whole nation because of a few instances in a cricket game. I have seen endless comments about Australia's past convict ties. Why? So some of our ancestors were convicts, so what? That was 200 years ago. We are a civilised country now where racism is illegal, there is no caste system, every person has equal rights. Free education, free medical etc. Also, our population is over 50% migrant- what is your percentage?-yet you call us racist? Bringing up the past is irrelevant. As to my opinion of what is going on in cricket. I believe Harbhajan is a liar and a trouble maker. I also believe the Indian cricket team is a bunch of overpaid sooks who threaten to go home like litttle children every time something doesn't go their way. But that doesn't mean all Indian people are like that, just the cricketers in this particular team, even then, I am sure not all of them are happy with this whingeing attitude.

Insults, yes. by Anurag on 28 Feb 2008

So Waxer, follow your own advice and stop picking holes with a country because of a few cricket instances. I can't see any connection between cricket and the percentage of migrants in India. An oh, overpaid sooks Indian cricketers may be, but those behaving like bad, spoilt brats are Aussie cricketers...it's easy to blame the Indian side for behaving like 'little children' because they have lost more matches on this tour than they have won against the Aussies, but that does not change the fact that the Aussie cricket team has been behaving like goons during this series, and they have now started to get into (at least some) trouble now for their sharp dirty tongues. Maybe, if the Aussie team had lost a few more matches on this tour, you and apologists of Aussie team like you wouldn't have had the guts to call the Indian cricketers 'little children'.

AUSSIES THE CONVICTS by KRISHAN on 27 Feb 2008

IF YOU LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF AUSTRALIA.. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CONVICTS FROM ALL OVER THE WESTERN WORLD.. SO OLD HABITS DIE HARD..THIER CRICKET IS HARD BUT NEITHER IT HAS FLAIR NOR THERE IS ANY ENJOYMENT..I THINKS IT IS BETTER TO IGNORE THE CONVICTS AND GET ON WITH THE GENTLEMANLY GAME..

OZ CRICKET by dev sethi on 27 Feb 2008

the oz cricket team uses the game as a battleground.fair enough two can play the same game and ricky ponting should not cry and go to teacher and complain indians are breaking rule 5.6!!the young indians are giving the creaking oz oldies hell in their hometown and they are not relishing it.the rest of the world has taken notice

Aussie Lepers by Megh on 27 Feb 2008

How about calling the aussies Lepers?

indian wingers by STEVE on 27 Feb 2008

here we go again, you threaten to pack your bags and go home now saying the australian cricket team wont be welcome in india, it is like an argument between the neighbourhood kids...all of you should grow up and face that your team will never be number 1.....country of fools..

Aussie loosers by Megh on 27 Feb 2008

Country of fools.... you or us? just look at australia as an american poodle :)) hahaha. Loosers. The europeans look down up on you guys as criminals, indegenous aussies look down up on you as racists and what do you guys look up on yourself? paedophiles? druggies? Murderers and criminals? well you will need time to think over steve... you guys still need another 100 years to know who and where you are from!! hehehe remember..." white trash in Asia" quoted by Singaporean Prime Minister. First start going to school, educate your self and try to achieve something in life rather than live on govt subsidies financed by International students.

Indian losers by Damo on 27 Feb 2008

Hey Megh some of us may have ancestors who were sent to Australia from England for stealing a loaf of bread, but it's better than being the slaves and elephant boys to the English that the Indians were. Also don't forget Australia is a country of affluence where everyone is equal. India is a 3rd world country of filth whose people are subject to a caste system and also has a crap cricket team!

MAD DOGS by STEVE on 27 Feb 2008

Hey Megh, you have got to be a child of incest to be as stupid as you are...i dont think australia has ever excepted financial help from india, you idiots cant even feed your people and i think its about time we make you stand on your own feet when things happen... the stupidest thing australia has done is sent finaancial aid when you fools got hit with the tsunami, should have let the country of dogs all drown...crawl back under your rock and watch us smash you cow fuckers again on the cricket field

Bhajji and Aussies by J.M.Manchanda on 27 Feb 2008

I think Hogg has let the cat out of the bag by admitting that saying things to unsettle the other team is fine with them. This is exactly the problem and it shows them as bad hosts. If they give it to Indians, young or old, they should be prepared to take it back. And the way they bring it up every time there is a match coming, it is all a matter of tactics. Aussies do need to shut up and play cricket like gentlemen otherwise the day is not far off when they would no longer be welcome on our subcontinent. And by the way, Indians did win to get into finals and that's what has prompted Hayden to start it all over again.Hay! It is just not den!

GO HOME by Rajan on 27 Feb 2008

Hey Dummy Darren,That person (Amit) is expressing his frustration and execising his right of freedom of expression. So, what kind of freedon is that jerk? You are calling India a trash bin, but that is where your crap mouthed players like Hayden are going to come with drooling mouths and play IPL matches. Those greedy ungragteful bastards!!!!

EAT A COW by Darren on 27 Feb 2008

Hey RAJAN MECARSABITRUSTY, if people dont want to live in australia as australian, then they should go home. the only reason our playeres are going over to play ipl is because you morons are paying them sooo much. lest all face it, next 20/20 world cup when india loose the only trophy they currently hold will be lost to australia, the indian public will loose interest and waste money on something else, how about feeding the kids over there we see on our tv begging for money for food...you idiots cherrish cows more than your own kids....grow up and face that your cricket team are a bunch of overpaid wingers who blame everything, wicket, crowds, umpires, everything but themselves when they loose....bunch of girls....

Aussies! by Megh on 27 Feb 2008

Hey Darren how about all the druggies, paedophiles and junkies roaming around your country? What about the exploitation of Aboriginees? What about you guys not even going to uni? heheheh yu guys are pathetic loosers and racists. By the way the way indian kids are brought up is far superior than you guys. we have morality and spiritualism while by 15 you guys are druggies and junkies- waste.... thats the Aussie DNA, Criminal past, present and the future. you have 20 milion people because a) no one is interested in your country, 2) you guys have no culture and civilisation to speak of and lastly who wants to live in a country where 40% of the population are druggies!! wake up aussie.... you are loosing ou least to speak off cricket.even the japanese manage to kick your ass- shame on you!

Dont be emotional by Indian on 27 Feb 2008

So many people reacting to comments made by a indian just to have little fun.I would like to say dont be emotional guys,Use all out.ha ha ha Hee Hee hee ho ho Ho.ha ha ha

INDIAN TRASH by Darren on 27 Feb 2008

We may have been devised from a convict conoly, but we can play cricket better then you...haha...another thing to consider is we have 20 million prople and india have over 1 billion, yet we would be able to make up at least 3 teams that are capable of beating your so called world beaters, indian cricket are the most over rated team on the planet...you all chant and make yourselves look like fools to the rest of the cricket world, we just sit back and let our world champions do all our talking, we will humiliate you again in the finals....

Aussie prick by Amit on 27 Feb 2008

why shouldnt indians react...y is it ok to take it lying down....as an indian living in australia im proud the way indians have conducted themselves..they have made us proud here...if they give u one...give them back two...the aussies are bunch of small kids...when somebody says something to them they go crying to the umpire...when they say something its suppose to be taken in the spirit of the game..bunch of arrogant, uneducated pricks

Disrepute by Jason on 27 Feb 2008

From someone who's actually watched the game, the only cry-babies playing cricket in Australia at the moment are the Indian team. They've disgraced themselves and brought not only Indian cricket but Indian people, because of their obscene, nasty and racist behaviours and words, into disrepute.

GO HOME by darren on 27 Feb 2008

you live in the best country on the planet, take for granted its wealh and freedom, if you dont like it and would rather live in a trash bin, go home to india.....freak...

Aussie prick? by waxer on 27 Feb 2008

Why are you being so abusive? It is funny how many people here accuse Aussies of this, yet look at the comments here. I think you are lying about living here. If you lived here you would know we Aussies love INdian people and treat them well and with respect. If you do live here, with your foul mouthed attitude, it is no wonder you don't feel welcome.

convicts? by waxer on 27 Feb 2008

I think it is hilarious how many people here think they are insulting us by calling us convicts. That was 200 years ago, you imbeciles. We now have a modern country with principles that shame you. We have free health care for ALL (there is no caste in Australia, so everyone is treated equally). It is againsty the law to discriminate- especially on the basis of race. Can you honestly say your country is as civilised yet? We love Indian people, but your cricket team is embarrassing you, and the cricket supporters there are so one-eyed they should be called cyclops.

what a joke by Amit on 27 Feb 2008

hey waxer...what about aborignals...you guys came to their country...and look what you did to them..no wonder your govt had to apologise...talking about discrimination...all the top jobs goes to white person...aussies refer others as chinese,vietnamese,indians...bunch of uneducated, unethical morons

Migration by Lee on 27 Feb 2008

The Aboriginals also migrated to Australia. And you will find the Chinese, Vietnamese and Indians do very well in Australia and a lot are very wealthy with their OWN business.

insults? by waxer on 27 Feb 2008

How far do you want to go back? Should I mention the 6 million Indians killed by the muslem war lords in the 13th century? Noone in Australia believes what happened to the Aboriginals in the past was a good thing- that is why our government appologiased- but I and the rest of this generation did not do it. Talking about the past is useless. The point is, your cricket team is embarrassing you. They are a bunch of sooky cry babies. If you want to take that and start insulting a whole country, then that is just childish. How old are you? 10 or 11?

Comments on Bhajji by Ashok Mehdiratta on 27 Feb 2008

Hayden has spoken of Bhajji as part of game plan.Australians want him to react so that they can run to the Australian umpire during the match.I can be sure that if Australians are batting Ponting will be on the non striker's end near Australian umpire and if they are fieldingHe will be near him at mid-on or mid-off.Australians are convicts of other countries and covicts do not have any principles. Please donot fall in to Aussie trap.

Tactics for the Indian Team by mark on 27 Feb 2008

I am sue you guys know all this, but still - It's all tactics, key objective being to WIN. doesn't matter how. Thats the way things are, and I believe always have been. It was a myth created by the imperliast dingoes, for the colonoies; gentlemenaly game, civilised behaviour, etc.. If you check out their real history, not what the lies they have been telling the world, you will realise that their's was a dof eat dog world, full of starving millions, who had to exported out to a very large part of the world, including OZ, US, etc.. Rest is history. Some cultures are very good at telling lies!

Indian deserved it imperialism by Brian on 27 Feb 2008

Australia never had any colonies idiot, India was just STUPID and weak to let the British do what they did.

Cricket and ozzies by mark on 27 Feb 2008

These hoodlums you call ozzies, are the gregs of europe, thrown out because of their criminal ancestry. It's in their blood to bully/fight, but having said that, they are all MOUTH. At the first sign of trouble, they go running for safety of umpire's apron! They are overfed, overblown, bullies. Living of the stolen land, where they have committed genocide, and they have the audacity to try to teah the world about rules/ethics? get wise guys, live in the real world, it's full of thieves like these.

Harbhajan Sing by Mishka99@hotmail.com on 27 Feb 2008

I have noticed that Harbhajan Singh is not performing well. He is too predictable. He tries to be economical but goes for 4 - 5 runs an over. He might get 1 wicket and he would act as if he has won the match on his own. He should be droped from the team. He is also showing unnecessary emotions. Piush Chawla is a better baller. Pick him. He did very well in Ireland and England. Indians please concentrate. Don't play in the hands of Aussies. Sledging is their religion. Show the real agression while you are batting, balling, or fielding. Dogs always bark please do not pay attention. At least Indians will make the money dance for 1.35 million. For that matter whole world will dance for bones thrown by BCCI. Watch it would be very interesting

shame by Amit on 27 Feb 2008

i live in sydney...its disgusting to see the behaviour of aussies...they are bunch of racists...sad to see indians offering them million dollor deals...didnt symond once say that they are not freinds with opposition...and look how VVS has come out proclaiming his freindship with symonds..shame on u VVS...

shame on you by waxer on 27 Feb 2008

You live in Sydney and take the best of our country, yet you bad-mouth us? Indian people are welcome here, as is any race. If you don't like it here- go home- what are you doing here? If we are so bad, then why not go back to your class system in India. It is against the law here to discriminate against anyone on basis of race, religion, gender, or "caste" which does not exist. So, go home to your "paradise" if you can't see what a wonderful country you live in. As to Harbhajan, he is a liar and is discrespectful to your country. He has had problems in every country he plays in, look how he bahaved last time they played England- told Pieterson "f- you" when he asked him why he wasn't walking after being bowled.

Heyden... a fat duck by VVH on 27 Feb 2008

If Bhajii is Obnoxiuos Little Weed then Heyden is a Fact Duck which alqays sound qwak ... qwak .. for no reason. I guess he must be feeling very important to speak so stupidly on radio. It shows a kind of person he is.. an arrogant..who can do nothing except scoaring some runs sometimes. He has no place in cricket history and he can not match Ishant's achievements at teh age of 19. He probably was learning to hold a cricket bat at this age. He should shut-up for good.

Shame on Hyd, Shame on Indians by Devan on 27 Feb 2008

Shame on Hyderabad IPL, Shame on Indians. Losers, Losers, losers. Indians deserve this and more. Hyd'bad's deserve this and more. Shame shame shame. Symonds kicks Indians, and Indians go begging to Symonds to play for $1.35 million as if we do not have any other player in the world - shame shame shame --- India, you deserve this and more from Aussies and I will not be surprised - The more symonds kicks you, the more he gets paid !

Umpire's Ruling by Sean on 27 Feb 2008

Australia didnt complain about Ishaan, he was reported by the umpires and addressed by the match referee because he broke the laws of the game. Pointing a batsman to the pavilion is not allowed.

Cricket Fracas by Dave Jaswal on 27 Feb 2008

Aussie cricketers like to show themselves as mature when talking about others. But defend their own behaviour as funny, off the cuff, sporty etc. Telling Ishaan that he is only 19 and should concentrate on his bowling, is an example. If one of their own behaved like Ishaan, they would probably dismiss it saying he is only 19 and has lot to learn. Well Ishaan is the same. Leave him alone. Why can't the Aussies take sledging. Symond's reaction to Ishaan was an overreaction. They seem to be now bent on creating a bad record for Indian players by lodging complaint after complaint. When the Indian players lodge a complaint, they are whingers. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Dont mind abt Aussies- Go get it in Field by U.S.kamath on 26 Feb 2008

Guys, Never mind of Hyden, he is cricketer and these things will happen prior to matches, what ever he said in radio it is foolish behavior, but we should not loose our temper lets show them on ground what we are, we are proud of India. if they say Asian be it so!
