Chandigarh Former Haryana deputy CM Chandermohan aka Chand Mohammad's second wife Anuradha Bali aka Fiza Mohammad attempted suicide on Thursday morning at her residence in Sector 48-C, Mohali (Chandigarh).

She was first spotted in an unconscious state by her mother at 10 am. High drama was witnessed at her residence, as she was physically lifted by one of her relatives and taken to a private clinic nearby, from where she was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32.

Doctors at the GMCH-32 said Fiza had consumed an overdose of sleeping tablets, Alprazolan, and that they have flushed out her stomach and she was stable. Dr Vipin Kaushal added that Fiza's condition was out of danger and she would be kept at the emergency ward before being shifted to the general ward.

According to Fiza's family members, she had consumed 25 tablets of Alprazolan after her husband Chand Mohammad failed to return after leaving home on Wednesday morning.

The Punjab Police are yet to initiate any action against her on charges of attempted suicide. However, considering her legal qualifications, the police officials mentioned that she might try and describe it as an accidental overdose of sleeping tablets and not a suicide attempt. The police have booked her on charges of attempting suicide under Section 309 of the Indian Penal Code.

Pseudo-secular rights! by Nauntakee the traitor on 30 Jan 2009

Interesting, according to our constitution as amended/written by congress traitors, there is a religion which allows you to commit crime officially if you get converted to it! Otherwise you will be thrown in jail for such crime! How interesting is our secularism being nurtured by vote seeking traitors!

Haryan deputy CM and et al by Anil on 29 Jan 2009

Well, nepotism is alive and more than kicking in India. The deputy CM, until recently,in Harayana, son of former Haryana CM. Punjab has its deputy CM, son of CM. Tamil Nadu has Stalin. And the big one, India has the PM in waiting related to all the other PMs. Why are you guys in the media sleeping? Don't you have anything to say, or are you so immune to nepotism it has become an acceptable part of life.

Fiza by Rashmi Gupta on 29 Jan 2009

Ms Fiza has fizzled out.People who break others home deserve nothing better. In fact Chand her husband has yet to get the punishment he deserves.Heaven and Hell are here itself and the culprits will get the deserving verdict in this life or the next but as they say Bhagwan ke Adalat mein DER HAI Andher nahin. So I donot pity them but I say do minimum sins or else the punishment is manifold

Is Rashmi Gupta God by first on 29 Jan 2009

Dear Rashmi, cut this 'Saas bhi kabhibahu thi' crap about 'dosron ka ghar ujadna'. and please stop acting like Bhagwan itself by giving judgement on other peoples' conduct.

Reply to First by Rashmi Gupta on 29 Jan 2009

Dear First,All this sounding crap to you is because of your upbringing(maybe)In case you are unable to understand Engish or Hindi properly please first educate youself. If you have got the chillies it is maybe you belong to the Fiza school of morals.I have not made any Judgement but commented on the Judgement made out of infidelity. In case you have such a problem please continue your foolish and immoral thought process and please do not have doubts of me being God as only a person with a very low IQ can comeup with such a ridiculous question

Well Done Rashmi by Amresh on 29 Jan 2009

the convenience of conversion by Sangria on 29 Jan 2009

How convenient is it for people who want to defy common law to convert to Islam. Why are we a country so antiquated in our matrimonial laws. A uniform civil code of law is overdue basic rules such as those of matrimony cannot and should not be different for different communities just because you pray five times a day to an arabic tune vs. praying to an indian one. When will the Indian constitution grow up and when will politicians dare to defy the minority issue and take a stand for what's just.
