With Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda inaugurating the network, called ADHAAR, at the State Network Management Centre in New Secretariat, Sector 17, here today, the citizen-friendly public services got a new meaning. The CM also had a video conferencing session with the deputy commissioners of Bhiwani, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Ambala, Mewat, Sonepat, Panchkula, Rohtak, Panipat, Jhajjar, Kurukshetra and Sirsa districts.

Speaking to the DCs, Hooda said the government was committed to deliver quality services to the citizens across the state and to provide the benefits of innovative technology and improve efficiency and productivity to the people of Haryana. The government was creating state-of-the-art infrastructure towards this end.

Hooda said the inauguration of SWAN was a major step towards setting up of core infrastructure for effective and intelligent utilization of information and communication technology in the service of the people. How effectively this infrastructure is used depends not only on the user departments but also on DCs as only they can ensure that the benefits of such technology flow to all citizens and that the district level offices of all the departments make full use of such infrastructure, said Hooda.

The CM said that by implementing this network, the way had now been paved for benefits of e-governance to percolate to the masses and the government departments would be able to exchange information at a much faster rate on a service platform.

Hooda also released a logo of National Conference on E-Governance to be hosted by Haryana on February 7 and 8 at Panchkula. The logo has been prepared by managing director, HARTRON, V.S. Kundu.
