British Hindu homosexual community will welcome the news that their brethren in India are now be able to enjoy the same freedom as they do here, Anil Bhanot, General Secretary Hindu Council UK said. It is indeed good news that people are not discriminated against because of God's laws of nature. Bhanot said the Hindu scripts describe the homosexual condition to be a "biological one, and although the scripture gives guidance to parents on how to avoid procreating a homosexual child, it does not condemn the child as unnatural.
"Hinduism prescribes 16 ceremonies to mark each major stage in one's life span. We would usually observe the birth, name, adolescence, marriage, retirement and death ceremonies but there is a little known ceremony called the "insemination" ceremony or the Garbhadan Sanskaar, which I am sure nobody observes now-days."
Bhanot said, "This insemination ceremony talks about homosexuality. The ancient Rishis or prophets advocated that there are two elements, fire (agni for sun) and water (soma for moon) which determine the sex of a child.”
"Of the 16 days from the end of the menstruation cycle, sexual intercourse for the purposes of procreation was forbidden on certain days as during these days the menses may continue."
The theory goes that if insemination takes place in the night of an even number from six to 16, a male child will be born whilst on an odd number of fifth, seventh, ninth and 15th night a female child will be born, Bhanot added.
"The scripture further forbids insemination on the 11th or the 13th night after the end of the menstruation cycle because then it says the child will be homosexual," he said.
According to the scripture the sex of a child is determined by whether the fire element is dominant or the water element is dominant. Thus during those even nights the fire element dominates giving a male conception and during those odd nights the water element gives a female conception.
However, if the fire element equals the water element then a homosexual conception takes place, Bhanot said. "The point here is that the homosexual nature is part of the natural law of God; it should be accepted for what it is, no more and no less.
Hindus are generally conservative but it would seem to me that in ancient India they even celebrated sex as an enjoyable part of procreation, where priests were invited for ceremonies in their home to mark the beginning of process.
In fact King Dasharath, who fathered Lord Rama around 2100 BC had one of the most lavish insemination ceremonies.
"Homosexuals are full human beings, who in Hinduism even worship their own deity, the Mother Goddess Bahuchara, for their spiritual link to the Absolute Brahm.

there is not a single line in any hindu religious books that says birth of a girl child is a sin or bad karma.just reading the GITA will solve all the problems of life.first read ur religious book fully and then those of other religions. Then alone u can comment true to ur conscience.if a person does anything other than worshipping god when he/she goes to a religious place,he does a sin.if he is god fearing he wont do that.it is the individual's behavior.there are millons of people from other religions who misbehave in religious places.it doesn't mean that those religions are impractical or lenient.ALL this depends on the way these people r brought up and not on the religion. Also if we r brought up well we wont hurt others by our speech, deed or even thought. If anyone who reads this faces a problem then read the translation of the Gita. And that will show u it is not merely a religious book but a guide to mankind.PEOPLE who hate their religion are atheists and they can be in religion
Homosexuality is not the fault of the gays as they are born that way. The Church doesn't explain what god's plan about gays.. A christian priest has told Sister Jesme that 5% of people are born with homosexual orientation and most of these Christian gays are attracted to monasteries. Jesme's autobiography was a major embarrassment to the Church when it hit the stands in February 2009. She started working on the book after she took a six-month sabbatical from her vocation as the principal of St Mary's College, Thrissur,Kerala. With four more years of service remaining, she quit the college and the Congregation of Mother Carmelite in August 2008. The chuch wanted to brand her as mentally ill. The Catholic Bishops' Conference of India has vehemently opposed the Delhi High Court's decision to do away with section 377 of the IPC, which penalises homosexuality. The bishops think homosexuality would weaken family values.bit.ly/8uPq2
Legalise gay sex to clean up monasteries, says former nun Sister Jesme who wrote the book ‘Amen’. Christisn institutions of celibacy are havens for gays. Sr Jesme, exposed the underbelly of the convents and other church institutions in her autobiography, Amen, says, legalisation of homosexuality is a must. In her autobiography, Amen, Jesme tells her own experience with a lesbian nun, who forcibly slept with her in convent. The Christian institutions built on celibacy are full of homosexuals, as per the book. Church and Christianity must be the creation of homosexuals to prevent them from being branded as eunuchs by the society. The church is the den of homosexuals and celibacy of the priests and nuns could be cover for them to live together in the seminaries and monastries. Science says that there Jesus was created in AD 325. There were no christians till 4th century. Christianity appears to have created by gays, as many of the popes were gays and one pope even gave birth to a child
UK Hindu Council is working for UK gays, it seems. Good for them. May be bad, whatever, who cares? Just like this Saifuddin guy is riddled with holes in his head, they too, seem to be ignorant about what is at stake. As for Saifuddin, let me tell him this : Go back in your ancestry, you will find horrible things happened to your people somewhere along the line, the poison of which has soiled your soul (I presume you have one, do not know what your belief allows you to have and not). Your great grandfathers were tortured or killed, grandmothers raped by the so called ganims and then forced in to Islam. Invariably so is the story of spread of Islam, a social system created by the Prophet(kudos to him) for barbarians of Arabia. Our peers of the time lacked foresight to reconvert after the onslaught was over and you unfortunately remained in your present hung status. So, stop worrying/criticising Hindus per se, you have a lot as skeletons in your own closet. FYI: We strongly condemn gayism.
I think darvan is totally mistaken, quoting to the previous post. There are enough evidences that animals engage in same sex relationships as well. There is nothing to stoop so low, remember we are a part of the animal kingdom too.Get your facts right!!This is to do with genes, nothing to do with religion. Even a devout muslim, hindu or christian could be gay. u and i can't control that!!!!!!
This article and the belief system of ancient texts is full of it. In a society cray for male children in a Hindu society, if the theory of insemination is true that those having intercourse during even dates would produce a male child, then all Indians would be male because Hindu Indians discriminate "girl-children." For them its bad karma. (I dont believe in karma or insemination on even or odd dates to produce boys or girl babies). The idea of fire, water, earth concept in conception is simply so absurd. There is no place for God (God of the Bible) or procreation within marriage boundaries in this article and the scientific proof that Male and Female chromosomes in that order are responsible for birthing a male or female child.
I read a lot of comments by different people about Hinduism lately and wonder if any of these people have ever read any of the religious books and if they have, did they understand anything written in them. Some followers of different religion have written ugly remarks about Hindus and Hinduism and I fail to understand how can anyone who is a believer spit so much of vemon.Every issue becomes an issue for criticising the other religion. My humble request to everyone is to please follow whatever religion you practice and try to improve yourself as a human being and don't talk about subjects that you don't understand. Hinduism is like a sea and grew with the contributions of thousands of Rishis or prophets and it is very stupid of anyone to pass a comment as to what is allowed and not allowed in Hinduism.
The name of the movie is 'Johny Mnemonic'. How the probe goes at the back of head when the Employmentist society wants to create new industry and needs more memory wothout worrying about change in behaviour of that human. The unoptimized society wants to create more useless things have more cars instead of bus, thus creating more strange humans. Free food and free shelter all over the earth, will stop employmentism and probably the absurdity documenting what happened to those lookalike victims...
All religions encroaches to the personality of each individual.
Christianity does abhors same sex relationships. That does not mean 'Gays' are hated. The practice is abhorrant, for even the animals dont indulge in it! So why do the humans stoop so low. Having been placed at the top of the picking order! Defies logic. Moreover we are assuming this is an adult privilege, what about the childrens rights? They are unable to gauge gender nuances until they have achieved puberty. To foist adult values on children is a gross violation of their rights
HINDUISM IS NOT A COMPLETE AND PRACTICLE RELIGION. MANY HINDUS THEY THEMSELVE HATE HINDUISM AND DOESNOT FOLLOW. IN VIEW OF THIS IT IS TURNING TOWARDS LUXURY/MUSICAL AND FREE CULTURE. YOU CAN FIND IN ALMOST ALL TEMPLES, SONGS OF FILMS, DANCING LADIES IN FRONT OF IDOLS TO GATHER AS MUCH AS PEOPLE AS WORSHIPPERS. HINDUISM CANNOT CANNOT PROVIDE HUMAN SOLUTIONS, THERE IS NO STRICT RULES AND REGULATIONS, IT IS JUST AN BLIND FAITH YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW. ALSO IN HINDUISM HINDUS INSULT GODS AND DEVI DEVTAS.
Neither does Christianity, butwe have to accept that there are people who do not have heterosexual feelings, and perhaps they need counselling to overcome these feelings. The problem of having an acceptance of "consenting adults" in 377 would lead to various other "consenting" actions which are neither moral nor legal e.g. can a married man have sex with his neighbor's wife just because both consent? Let us not blindly follow something without understanding the legal and societal implications of the same.
WHY NOT RSS AND ITS STOOGES TAKE UP THE NOBLE CAUSE OF MAKING HIDUISM GAY FREE? WHY NOT REMOVE THE EROTIC SCLUPTURES FROM KHAJORAHO AND OTHER TEMPLES?WHY NOT BAN SUCKING THE SHIV LI-G? WHY NOT BAN SATHI? WHY NOT BAN JOGINS? WHY NOT BAN LICKING OF LADY GODS' PU-Y?IF SOME ONE WANTS TO HELP HINDUISM TO BE CIVIZED RELIGION, IA M AVAILABLE FOR HELP.
Well I totally appreciate hindu religion's open debate attitude, but I would like to condemn Sham's remark against Islam and Christianity. Please do no criticize these religions as outdated which hurt's peoples sentiments. Also there's lot of rules governing homosexuality in all Holy books which are very valid and true. We got to understand in right perspective. Our lack of knowledge does mean religion is outdated. I am a secular Indian and continue to respect all religions.
Come on accept it. you are just using a hindu name. Your religion does not allow it and so you are trying to find some people among hindus who can support. Even our hindu scriptures support Homosexuality, so we accept them as part of our culture, we dont hate them :-)
Homosexuality is against the God's natural laws. This is Devil trap against the entire world. The union of man
Hinduism does not condemn anything but warns of your karmas. All freedom does not necessarily mean freaking out at all. All other good things are there in life to enjoy, why some people want to behave weird, but it takes all types to fill this world, it is everyone's own business. Just ignore these for that is the best way. But if some one starts canvassing it to me, by god, he she (I am not so sure here)had it.
Most of the people here who are so strongly opposed to homosexuality probably have hidden desires for homosexual relations. It has been proven again and again in psychological studies that people who hate homosexuals, usually are afraid of the homosexual desires in their own mind, and therefore hate anyone who is not afraid of homosexual feelings and is openly gay. In psychological experiments it is frequently seen that if tolerant heterosexuals and heterosexual people who hate homosexuals are shown gay pornography, then it is always those who hate homosexuals who get sexually excited.
Its really good thing for gay people the only religion which treats gays as humans. That is why hinduisum is scientifically correct, We are open to debate and we can ammend according to time. But christianity and islam are such outdated religion depending only on single books which are dated centuries old.
Hinduism does not preach hatred, for anyone. And idiots likey Mr Gupta here are a disgrace to the religion, and should probably re-read the scriptures, or just pay a visit to Khajuraho or Konark. Hindus a 1000 years ago were broadminded enough to put sexuality of all kinds, including homosexuality, on our temple walls. And there were no restrictions against homosexuality till 1850, then some prudish Victorian Britisher comes along and creates a law banning love between people of the same sex, and bigoted Hindus like you use this British law, completely opposed to our tolerant culture, to justify your hatred of homosexuals.I am happily married with children, and I don't see why other people who have found love with people of the same sex should be considered criminals, and denied the possibility to have a loving partner and a happy life. I am happy for all homosexuals who can now love without fear or guilt, and sad for people like Mr Gupta, who will probably never know what love is.
Sir,May be Hinduism not obeject it but the question is: is Humanism allow it? The decision has been made and now it is up to the people what they think of it. Some of the question still exists. Is it a natural bonding? Or is it a bond of necessity when the body demand, mind fails and happens. Is it another tool to decrease stress living in a metro culture? The thing is what spurs these people to have sex with same sexless of logic have been given in support of Homo-sextualty.such a human freedom, liberty etc. why our society needs to free itself from the norms it has built around them for a prosper, safe, healthy and secure life. Aristotle has said Man is a social animal. Now it seems that in search of freedom it only wants only to remain an animal. Why the law have been made and the people made these law were fool or they only wants to obstruct Human from becoming animal. It has become a culture to raise voice of handful of people supressing mojorty sentiments.
I am a Hindu and don't give a damn about the new HC ruling or what the Hindu Council UK has to say. I just enjoy not being gay ...I enjoy the company of the opposite sex. The gays have their fun I have mine...
the important thing is that constitutionally it is right and appropriate for the ban to be lifted. The rest is a matter of personal opinion - whether one's faith approves or not is a personal matter. But under the constitution, in a free and equal society, we cannot deny homosexuals the right to live as full and equal citizens in our country. If you believe in an India that is a free, just and equitable society, you will not deny basic human rights to anyone....
i also live in UK and the hindu council is doing a fantastic job in UK and abroad. ignorent fools like you are a curse for hinduism(if you a hindu)
If hiduism doesn't condemn gays and homosexuality, long back indian hindus would've practiced it. Why the Hindu UK council is informing the world now that hindus are OK with gays. It's rubbish, Indian Government must ban this social stigma once for all. The gays and lesbians are the creation of themselves not by the God, they wanted be like that, if you have a stricter rule to punish them, they will rectify themselves and live a normal life.
