Under the ICC's anti-racism code, the touring team is asked to advise the match referee of terms regarded as offensive in its culture but Kumble did not nominate "b*****d" as an offensive label, a Sydney Morning Heraldl report said.
Hogg had been charged by Indian team manager Chetan Chauhan of having said Anil Kumble and Mahendra Singh Dhoni that he was "looking forward to running through you b*****ds".
The Australian spinner will appear for a hearing before match referee Mike Procter in Perth, likely on Monday evening.
By contrast, the newspaper said, the word "monkey", which Harbhajan has been accused of using against Andrew Symonds was identified in the pre-series agreement as off-limits.
Hogg, who has been charged under level three offence of the ICC Code of Conduct, faces a ban of between two and four Tests unless his defence can successfully have the charge downgraded to a level one offence, or the Australians can get it dropped, the report added.
The visitors though will argue that the word is insulting because it has connotation of being born out of wedlock, a highly sensitive topic in Indian culture.

We Indians are always on the back foot. This is not the way to withdraw from the fight. Why hasn't Ponting withdraw the charge against Harbajan. I like Aussies for their no nonsense approach. we have to learn a lot.
This is funny... I felt that the Indian team should have packed up and left. With our financial clout the Bas***ds would have to come knocking on our door to restart the series. ICC is ruled by one of the Bas*** Mon***s but BCCI is run by an incompetent fool.
This is ridiculous because it requires each team to have a vast vocabulary of abusive words that they first need to notify the other team/Umpires. If someone then uses abuses them using words not in that list, it does not count as abuse! What can be more stupid than this kind of agreement?
The land where having dozens of fathers is a holisitic ritual...., Bas** is not a bad word. There prostit**ution has craze and respect and it is social prestige. But Indias Monkey God Hanuma is Brahmachari ( has no marital or s*xual relation). This hanuman's act is very bad for them . That is why calling Monkey hurted and degraded them.
The word bastard is not offensive in the white colored skin nations as this is part and parcel of life. Fathers name is omitted on the passports and replaced with mothers. But in India where mothers and sisters are sacred for us and every woman special and marriage itself sacred. So Bastard is more degratory then dog as our beliefs and religion is challenged. While Monkeys do not get married and so to call them monkeys or by any other name is the same and with the same meaning. But Mike Prockter may not feel bad as he is a member of the same Bas... Society.
When you are a crow and wants to be a Peacock by drssing up with some feather, you will receive insults. Why do you participate in Cricket game? How many Indian play Cricket or have played cricket even once in his life? Not even 1 percent.Cricket is played only Britain and its former colonies. Thus, Indians while playing international cricket have already accepted their role as Gunga Din or slaves of the white masters. If then the servants do not want to be kicked around, of course Master will be very angry. This is the case with Indian team members, they forgot their role as servants and slaves---they should be glad that Sahad insulted them as bastards, as least Sahab said something and the life of these slave Indians are now glorified. However, if you pretend to be real human being while accepting the role of a servant, you will be disappointed. So, Do not play Cricket, play football or any other Olympic game.I am sure in the next Olympic game, India will not get even one copper.Cricket has ruined every other games of India. Discard it if you do not want to be a servant of the white masters.
D.Bose football is also the game of gora sahab, so that also make you and most bengalis the so called slaves as you said. So my advice to you is think before you blurt.
Hogg needs to understand that in in countries in asia , we donot commonly have children born out of wedlock, and such unfortunate situations are embarassing to our traditinally old cultures, unlike WESTERN NATIONS. Tell hogg stand in your pub and call someone B***D and see what happens? for that matter even in AUSTRALIA
They are all white english dogs. We must treat these dogs with the same coin. During colonial rule, British and other Europeans treated us as sub-human beings. Now they must get ready to get it back. Monkey is nothings, we must call them white kutta, dogs. Tit-for-tat. Unless, they learn to respect us, why we have to respect them? Respect is a two-way process. Strengths understand strentghs. BCCI must show guts and not sold-out for few dollars. Sarad Pawar must realise, its not his personal politics. Its a matter of our nation of 1 billion plus people and the nation.
Racist or not, why should he utter it. Are the Aussies finding it very difficult to give up their ancestral heritage passed down from the marooned buccaneers? Or they lack the essential skills in cricket, so they make up for it with slurs? They would like to make these abuses part of the game by terming it "giving their best to win", but abusing opposition has never be seen as part of the game by any sane follower of sports.
It is time for both teams to grow up and move on in the spirit of the game. If we cannot play any game with a certain amount of civility we should not play that game at all. Be among nations, states or ourselves.
The British did call Indian's "bast**ards" in fact. By the same rule book the Aussie's use, this falls in the same category as "mon**key". Bastard is a very colonial term and reminds indians of their colonial past.
'B' IS A BIGGER OFFENCE THAN 'M'. 'B' INSULTS BIRTH, BUT 'M' IS FROM WHERE MAN HAS COME.
There was an Aussie,..............Who was found to be white,............His ancestors found in caves,............his name was Neanderthal...............His ancestors were subjugated,.............By brutal means,..............and force to convert to Christ,.............Then sent by the British,..............All criminals and whores,...............then came an Aussie so.................
Now monkey is offencive and he wears that white paint to looks like a monkey, and in our culture it is nothing degrogatory about it, but B*stard which even in their culture is degrogatory is acceptable, because Indians did not know the meaning of it. Well, if not a double standard. These Aussie want cake and to eat it too.
You don't understand it is a case of defamation against the Indian team, no one heard the slur, and it was deny the player as to have ever said it. Further there is no proof he ever said it. Just one player word against another. Shameless official, white man's lie is more true then a brown men truth.
The word "Bastard " may be commonplace in the western society, because of their views on marriage and having babies. They make nobones about it since childbirth outof wedlock is common place.During my stay in the U.S. I found a large no .of teenagers still in college or school having children pre marriag. The same is not the case in India and many other places in the east as social norms established will not accept children bornout of wedlock as legal. Mr.Proctor should understand this fact as calling someone as "B*****D" is considered an insult when he gives his judgement. If not he has merely passed the buck.
Till a few years ago, the word was taboo in ordinary conversation. It has a distinct legal meaning: for example, all the five Pandavas would be bastards, according to the extant law in most parts aof the world, including India. The insertion of asterisks, ostensibly for hiding the taboo word, actually makes it worse. If it were not offensive, where is the need for printing it as "b*****d"? The Australian press persons are big hypocrites and certain Australian players and officials of the concerned Test match are m****rf**ks. (This last word is a variation of the obscenities frequently hurled at "coloured" players by the South African, Andre Nel, who is allowed to get away with it, because he is white skinned.)
The Pandavas were not b*stards they had a father, they were not illegitimate. I find it offensive..................................One definition of B*stard "3 slang a. vicious, despicable, or throughly dislikes person" Webster's Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language mean someone thourgly hated and disrespected sounds like a racial slur.
I see Sehwag has now commented on the "monkey" affair. He was not even there! How can he comment? This is completely out of hand. I have great admiration for Indians and Indian cricket and this incident cannot be seen as a slight on all Indians. They were not there either. It involved two people essentially. Leave it to the umpires and referees as that is their purpose and stop whipping up emotion and nationalism. They are irrelevant in this issue. Australia is by some margin the best team in the world now and has been so for a decade. That is a fact and India can learn a lot by playing against them and improve their own third place ranking as well. This should be done in a spirit of goodwill and friendship.
The reason for the omission may be that the 'word' was not from Indian culture and how can one expect an indian captain to list all the derogatory words from all other cultures that are alien to him/her ? People are being very creative, are n't they ? And who can not guess, why ?
It shows the slave mentality which runs through our heritage. If the B****** is a good word and can be tolerrated by a captin of the national team, it just the tour money that interests our monkeys nothing else.
