Kolkata, June 15 Mother of Sheikh Najrul, one of the two youths killed in yesterday’s road accident in Hooghly, lodged a complaint with the police alleging on Sunday.

She alleged that her son was murdered. The Hooghly police have initiated a probe into the incident.

Sheikh Najrul and Sheikh Kutubuddin, both residents of Bhagabatipur, were crushed to death by a private bus on Ahalyabai Road. They were on their way to Singur to attend a Trinamool rally.

Trinamool Mamata Banerjee alleged that the duo was murdered by CPM goons for participating in the Trinamool’s campaign in the panchayat polls. A police officer said they were looking for the driver and conductor of the bus.

“It seems to be an accident. But since we have received a complaint of murder, we are investigating the case ,” said the officer.

Bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families this evening after autopsy.
