Lashkar e Toiba

Jammu The Jammu and Kashmir police report has said that the militants including Lashkar-e-Toiba whose cadre comprised mostly foreigners carried out recruitment of local youth on massive scale before the recently held assembly polls in the state.

The police said that while they were busy with the conduct of polls, many youth from areas of Doda and Kishtwar were both trained locally and some sent cross-border by militants. In the last few months, both Laskhar and other militant outfits including Harkat-ul-Jehad-i-Islami have recruited over 20 youths from areas of Kishtwar, Doda and Rajouri.

"The militant recruitments were being carried out before polls to create disturbance," sources said, adding that the police managed to foil any big militant attempt to disrupt poll process in the state.

Inspector General of Police, Jammu zone, K Rajendra said that "the recruitments by militant outfits were forced. The youth were taken away on gun point and made to join militant ranks." While some youth have been trained in Pakistan, sources said others were lifted as over ground workers to strengthen the local militant network.

"Even the Huji, which was mostly of the militants from Pakistan earlier, is now making local people join them as over ground workers," said a top police officer.

Sources said that police have managed to smash the network of Huji outfit in the state with only 2 to 3 of its militants surviving in the state at present. In Kishtwar, there are only two top Huji commanders who have been left.

"Huji has been virtually made defunct with surviving militant commanders also on the run," said Kishtwar district SP Haseeb Moughal. "We arrested a Huji commander here yesterday who was involved in the killing of a colonel and five other personnel of

GREF last year. He was also involved in political killings and five murders."

There are only two militant commanders of Huji who have been left in Kishtwar, he added. Huji in the last few months has received a serious blow after some of its top commanders were killed by police. Some of the slain militants included Bashir Lohar, who was eliminated in police action in Udhampur last year.

Huge local recruitment by LeT, Huji before J-K polls by lula on 06 Feb 2009

ask them whether they will free kashmir from china too. tell them to start or don't they have the guts for it. check your history and then do a reality check on how rich those terrorists and separatists are. youths and their parents must ask themselves how come the huryat leaders are always travelling well, eating well and partying well while the rest are being told to ruin their lives like those kashmiris repressed in pakistan . your separatists parties will never allow the kashmir youths to study and pass exams in case you see through their irresponsiblity, selfishness and treacherous nature. they can blow bombs up in india but they are scared to try taking kashmir back from china- real cowards.

And yesterday Mr.Narayan was boosting of peace and tranquality in the region and was proud to invite Obama to see and confirm.Le>T is taking shape of Hamas if not uprooted it will create much more problems for India because India is full of anti-Nation elements who will support fanaticism at any cost.More funds will be pouring in from rest of Islamic world which will be used for destruction with/for previous known motives. These guys have no interests for developement of infrastructure or comfort of the people. Its only uncompromise use of power that will help India to bring some normalcy and discipline among misled people of this region.LATON KE BHOOT BAATON SE NAHIN MANTE.GOI (any)will have to close the chapter of human rights concern and use full force and if need be Pakistani Occupied K be taken back which is possible through all out war.Otherwise this bloody problem/conflict will continue for ever which will keep the region underdeveloped and a good source of plundering by west

recruitment to LeT by richard on 03 Feb 2009

What does LeT has in mind for the youth of Kashmir? If more and more youngsters become gun carriers and terrorists, who will be left in Kashmir to work for its development? Instead of acts of violence, the LeT should concern more about the development of the state and earn more and more revenue for it. If that doesn't happen, state will remain the same. Guns, violence and bundhs cannot change anything for the state except unwanted bloodshed.
