"I am a homeless person for 50 years," Dalai Lama said at a function organised in Bangalore to felicitate former Defence Minister George Fernandes, adding, he has been a guest of the Indian government all these years.
The 72-year-old said he had become a refugee at the age of 24. "My best part in life is spent in this country. Major part of my life is spent in this country", he said.
Dalai Lama said having spent many years in India, his ‘inner values’ and ‘spirituality’ come from this country.
"Indian spirituality filled my mind. I am mentally an Indian".
According to him, India could solve many of its problems if Indians had the same zeal and spirit that they showed during the freedom struggle.

the tibetan govt in exile under his holiness receives million of donation from foreign countries and westerners in foreign currency. All this money comes to India and helps the Indian Economy. Plus all the tourist who comes to India just to get H.H blessing. all this helps the indian economy.

his Holiness the Dalai Lama is a homeless person that stays in 4 stars hotels all over the world!
Let us not mix religion or nationalism with spirituality. Dalai Lama lives by Indian's spirituality, that is Indians' search for Absolute Reality or Truth. Scientific community also is essentially engaged in the same search. China's political elite seeks raw power and not the spiritual growth to benefit all mankind.
The revered dalia lama should not make such statements in a hurry. The CPI/PIM goons will make this a pretext and ask the UPA govt to expel him as they will say the chinku army will attack india. With all due respects to the master, you should go to some other country to be safe. please learn from what happened to Taslima Nasreen. You are too precious and kind to be lost in commi political shit.
Tibet and China, were never a hostile lands to our ancestors. There was immense cultural flow, and Tibetan/Buddhist philosophy under the banner of Dalai Lama is being embraced all over due to it's non violent teachings. It originated in the foothills and plains of Himalayas by great philosophers of the ancient times. It is time to celebrate the relationship that has existed for so long, and acknowledge it in our history curriculum text books.
Someone has made a statement. Period. Doesn't require others to blame and point fingers to another community. Sweeping statements by educated people are the root cause to wrong image , bias and prejudice towards other people. The "One" who may possibly have anything to say about His/Her children stays quite. Who are we then to make such comments about various communities in India. Indian spirituality itself teaches acceptance , tolerance and restrain...
Vedic/Indic civilization and culture influenced all the major regions around Bharatvarsh (i.e. Indian subcontinent). Tibet is our immediate neighbour, infact it was part of the Vedic culture historically. Tibetan language and scripts derived from Sanskrit, so as Burmese, Thai etc. Dalai Lama is an honest person, thats why speaks out from his heart. He is not only a Bharatiya, his dharma (Buddha dhamma) is too Bharatiya. Hindus, Buddhists, Jainas and Sikhs all belong to same Sanatan Dharma. What we need is the greater intereactions and communications among us. Followers of Sanatan Dharma are the largest dharmic/religious groups in the world, totaling about two billion people. Culturally China is Bharatiya/Indic too, as they were influened by Vedic/Indic civilization and culture over thousands of years. Read this site: http://www.hinduwisdom.info/Hinduisms_influence.htm
The Dalai Lama is a very accepting and acceptable spirit. I am surprised the Chinese consider him to be a threat. China would be culturally and spiritually richer with Dalai Lama present amongst them. Oh well! China's loss is India's gain in this particular scenario. We have a holy spirit amongst us, we are all blessed.
