New Delhi He might be missing from Bollywood for a while but actor Atul Kulkarni, who has given hits like 'Page 3', 'Chandni Bar' and 'Range De Basanti', says he is too busy to be out of work.

Kulkarni, who is a well known face in Marathi cinema, was last seen in 2009 release 'Delhi 6'. The actor will next be seen in Hriday Shetty's crime-comedy 'Chaalis Chaurasi' opposite Nasseruddin Shah. The film is slated to release on January 13. The film also stars Kay Kay Menon and Ravi Kisan in pivotal roles.

“It's not that I am not being offered work in Bollywood but I seldom like any script. I don't want to work in just any movie for money. I do films in seven languages so I am pretty busy to be out of work. I am happy with whatever I am doing. I don't think I will ever be erased from people's memory as I like to believe the work I do leaves an impact on people. I want to be remembered for the quality of my work not quantity,” said Kulkarni.

The 46-year-old, who recently made his Hollywood debut with the film 'Singularity', starring Bipasha Basu in the lead role, also works for Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil cinema.

'Chaalis Chaurasi' will see Kulkarni in a comic avatar for the first time and the actor said it was a refreshing break from his intense roles.

“I was dying to do comedy on-screen. My roles have been very intense and dominating in the past and I was eager to experiment and bring in a surprise factor in this film. It's not that I haven't done comedy on stage. Being a theater actor I have done a lot of plays and drama but never got a chance to do it on big screen,” Kulkarni added.

Kulkarni said he enjoyed shaking leg in the film with Shah.

“I will also be dancing for the first time in this movie and it was a fabulous experience. Dancing like a typical Hindi film hero was a bit strange at first but I enjoyed it,” he added.

Talking about his experience of working with Shah for the first time Kulkarni said, “Naseer sir taught me acting while I was in NSD and to finally have the chance to work with him was a great opportunity. I never felt uncomfortable or stressed around him because he created an healthy environment on the sets and would have discussions with us about the script and about the shot. I think Naseer sir is one of the best actors in our country.”

'Chaalis Chaurasi' follows the story of four cops and their encounter with unexpected situations.
