Hemant Karkare wife

Mumbai Breaking her silence over the Mumbai attacks, Kavita Karkare, wife of Maharashtra ATS chief Hemant Karkare who was killed fighting the terrorists, on Monday said she was proud of her husband's sacrifice.

"I feel proud of my husband's sacrifice but we have paid hard price for it. It is very painful because I am 50 plus and at this age I really needed my husband," she said.

Kavita, whose two daughters are abroad and her 17-year-old son is pursuing studies "quite independently", told NDTV that she regretted the decision of her husband to join the Anti-Terrorism Squad.

"I strongly regret that. When he took up the ATS job, I knew from his nature and uprightness that he will go in front and fight. It is a very risky job. That time, I used to tell him to apply for a UN job," she said.

Kavita said she was initially angry after the Mumbai terror attacks, "but now I think I am overcoming the anger. Because this anger and violence will not help to solve the problem. We should come together and do something constructive".

She said the ATS should have good weapons and good coordination to tackle such kind of terror attacks.

Karkare's was murdered by Mossad and L K Advani by JK on 27 Mar 2009

We r really sorry for the g8 loss.I strongly believe,as did serve with Sir Karkare. He n his team was Murdered ,what I strongly believe, for Malegan Blasts investigation , and all this Kasab plot is Mossad war game,he was killed on the special orders of some high politicians who were involved in the conspiracy of Bombing and Col of our Army.We feel ashamed today, justice should prevail in our country and L K Advani and Mossad should b interrogated for his murder,we will get all the clues from the file he had made,if not disappeared. These powers want hindu and muslims within the country to fight with each other, destabalize India and make it as it was 1000 years back. Karkare was a bold, daring, honest, courageous officer of our force and RAW. Who would never take bribe,he was not for sale and would always take side of truth and justice and always serach for the hidden truth. A true Indian. Jews are actually behind all this satged drama and shootings in the hotel, kill 2 birds with one stone.

martyr by rks on 08 Jan 2009

first of all my condolences to the family and if we see practical side karkare was heading ATS when this happened and ATS did not knew about the plan its very sad that does not reflect any BRILLIANCE on ATS part next thing to notice is dont know why kavita is saying that she regrets her husband joining ATS when even a martyr sepoies widow says she is proud of her husbands sacrifice .is it just that she wanted to enjoy the previlages of IPS officers and did not want to share any risks of the job when she says she regret the day he joined ATS .i think IPS officers should be leading the operations instead of sitting in offices in addition to all this dont forget salaskar and kamte who were known for there courage before they died and i cant see any brilliance in karkers carer accept he was heading the dept which was responsible to keep mumbai safe and i think if he would have been alive he would have been the first officer to be sacked for negligence of duties

KARKARE'S SACRIFICE by N.V.Sankaran on 07 Jan 2009

Mr. Hemant karkare did not die fighting the terrorists, but was shot dead when he was proceding to the place of action, unlike Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan or Mr. Thukaram Rambole. Yet, it was very unfortunate. The coverage he got from the media was not because of any supreme sacrifice, but because he was responsible for finding "Hindu Terrorists". Unfortunately, his death does not clear the doubt that he was acting under pressure from somebody in relation to the Malegaon investigation. According to some earlier reports, he had complained that he was under great pressure. That pressure could very well have been from the UPA government since some of their cabinet ministers had demanded a ban on the Hindu organizations as a pre-condition for re-imposing the ban on SIMI.

Hemant karkare by Ashwin Panemangalore on 06 Jan 2009

May your husband a true Maharashtrian be documented in the annals of history not for the way he was killed but for the way he worked selflessly honestlyy and with a forthrightness which will survive the lesser minions who now flaunt in the Mumbai political scenario

Jai Hind by Pkm on 06 Jan 2009

I have some thing to say on it. What was doing by ATS Chief (Malegaon Blast probe) was definitely a good task. But That can be done little later. While so many warnings are comming from left and right that there is possible of terror strike in Mumbai with possible targets atleast at that point of time ATS should keep the accused of Malegaon in the lockup and start working on inteligence tips. and Secondly while all three are main persons of security agencies how can all three go in one vehicle. Rather they should not go to front unles there is very very urgent. They are the comanders they should not exposed. Govt should take care of these things.Jai Hind

Karkare Not a Hero by Bharti on 06 Jan 2009

What is so great about Karkare.Actually, they were shot up because of incompetence and faulty procedure followed by them. Imagine a terrorist shoots policemen, take their veh, shoots more people, clearly reflect faulty tactics and training.Let us not make hero of their incompetence.I know he will get Ashok Chakra. That is Indian Politics and shame of nation.

JAI HIND by S Thulasidharan on 06 Jan 2009

We all Indians are proud to have a true son of the motherland. Jai Hind

Salute by Dr.Ganesh B Aiyer on 05 Jan 2009

I really appreciate Mrs.Kavita karkare views. Not only she , but the whole india have missed such a great officer. My only regret is why the media never talks about those constables who were killed with Mr. Karkare. Why donot we look at the bottom. We always sing in praise of a senior officer but not of a person who is at the bottom. Atleast his two girls are abroad and his son is 17 . what about those constable familieswho were killed. Why do not the media take interest in them. Open any paper there is only sex and films actresses semi nude photos. Media wants to sell though there itemsthrough nude phots. Our mind and soul have beccome very corrupt. God save thoseminds. It should be remembered that we are a country ruled by Lord Rama for 10000 years. We should not use this as a medium for selling our news.

Though she said feel proud of her husband's sacrifice at the same time she feels the pain by his lost is terrible for a wife like she. I urge she must sue the concerned crooks in our govt. who are responsible and purchased sub-standard Bullet-Proof Jackets for our Police Force, that cost the life of our innocent

PROUD Mrs. Karkare by AR NUJUM on 05 Jan 2009

Every idian should proud for his sacrifice to country. but same time don't allow the culprits who are behind the scene to escape and make benifit from the incident. why the authorities afraid t6o reveal the facts behind it. Bring terrosist Kasab infront of Media publicaly and reveal to the world actually what happened. then only we the Indians do justice to KARKARE'S family. Jai Hind.

representatives? by Ganesh on 06 Jan 2009

"every Indian should be proud of his sacrifice".Why do you speak for all Indians or even wish that all Indians should be proud. This is a democratic country and pls speak for yourself only.Karkare was no saint going by his zeal for the fake Malegaon investigation

Terrorist Nujum by Bharti on 05 Jan 2009

Dear Nujum, what you think is fact?.That is problem with the terror mind, they only understand the language of terror. So you will get it .

Karkare's honesty... by Hassan on 05 Jan 2009

I was so sad at first face when i heard the news of the brave Indian officer' death who confront terror with a iron heart...he was the one who could have brought the truth out on many issues concerned with terrorism. We saw the same pseudo nationalist faces which were so happy when he died...

died by rks on 08 Jan 2009

how many issues you are talking about sorry for this but he failed to prevent the very attack he was responsible to prevent as ATS cheif i think the real hero was the cop who was responsible for kasabs arrest salute to him alas have not heard much about him

Be Upright by bhimsen on 05 Jan 2009

Ms. Karkare there is nothing new in what you are saying. Practically every unsung martyred jawan's wife goes through the same rigmarole of feelings. Just because your husband chose to become a pawn of the UPA government you have become an instant celebrity. Had your husband been an upright man - investigating the real terrorists rather than coining meaningless phrases / pursuing dead investigations in the so called "hindu terrorism" - he might have been alive today. There is no point in debating the pro and cons of his job now. Someone had to do it. But in future do think about the numerous war widows whom your husband and his masters chose to condemn and implicate in nonsensical investigations. The wrath of the army and the wrath of war widows has come to haunt you. It is a lesson for all of us - never again point fingers on soldiers without being 100% certain. Good luck to you and your family.

UNCALLED SILLY QUESTIONS by R.Aravindan on 05 Jan 2009

Bhimsen, for heaven's sake do not throw filth on a martyr.if you a grouse on politicians just spit venom on them.please

wrath on your thoughts by sabbir h on 05 Jan 2009

Mr. Bhimsen you have again tried to play political cards by expressing your views on one sided. You mean to say that Hemant Karkare went on the wrong track by detecting some truthful investigations? and thats why he has paid his price ? Before advising Mrs. karkare use some sense in writing your thoughts.

karkare by Atman on 05 Jan 2009

Mr.Bhimsen u hit the nail on the head when u saif tht.Karkare was licking sonia's feet and Salaskar killed that guy Rahul Raj..both these men deserved what they got.when people sell their conscious for money..even God despises them..and they were not killed in Combat..they were shot by Kasab when they were sitting in the car and driving through Cama hospital..no martyrs..just collateral damage these guys!
