London, June 5: Nicolas Sarkozy's better half Carla Bruni is said to have taunted France's most senior woman politician for her failure to do what the former Italian supermodel herself is famous for -- seduction.

A new book has claimed that Bruni, whose past lovers include Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton, ridiculed French Justice Minister Rachida Dati for failing to win over the flamboyant President of France.

"You'd have loved to occupy it, wouldn't you?" Bruni told glamorous Dati, who is single, pointing at a double bed in Elysse Palace, according to the book to be published in Paris later this week.

Dati (42), considered to be one of the best friends of Sarkozy's ex-wife Cecilia Ciganer-Albniz, is said to have enjoyed a close relationship with the French President before his marriage with the 40-year-old former Italian supermodel.

That's the reason why, the book says, the two women (Bruni and Dati) "who were just getting to know each other, were also learning how to detest each other", The Daily Telegraph reported onm Thursday.

The book, titled 'Carla and Nicolas - The True Story' and penned by respected journalists Yves Azroual and Valrie Benam, recounts each and every detail of the couple's 80-day romance which culminated in marriage in February.

In the book, Bruni has also spoken about falling head over heels in love with Sarkozy, not only for his physique but also for his "five or six brains".

"His physique, his charm, and his intelligence have all seduced me. He has five or six brains and is remarkably clever. I've never dated a half-wit before, it's not my style. But him; he's very, very quick. And he's got an incredible memory," the French First Lady says.

Commenting on the President's workload, she tells the authors: "I'm often scared for him. It's unimaginable how much work he does so I try to help him to look after himself."

Making it clear that her official role has made concerts impossible, Bruni says: "All that has changed is that I can't tour. At least not while my husband is President of the Republic! It's something I'll have to get used to."
