In a reply to a question on whether he will be UPA's
Prime Ministerial candidate in the coming Lok Sabha elections, Gandhi said, "I have answered this question many times in the past. Dr Manmohan Singh is the Prime Minister from the Congress and UPA."
"My Prime Ministerial candidate for the coming Lok Sabha elections is Dr Manmohan Singh," Gandhi said.
The Congress general secretary said as far as he is concerned, he has taken up the role to revive Youth Congress, attract large number of youths in politics and Congress and involve them in nation building exercise.
On his three-day visit to the state, Gandhi is traveling in Saurashtra, Central and South Gujarat districts, meeting students, inspecting the drive of Youth Congress to recruit new members and looking after the preparation of its elections.
In a reply to a question on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's remark that the country needs to be freed from a family rule, Rahul said, "Mr Modi has many views and he is entitled to having his own views".
Replying to a question on Pakistan's response to the Indian dossier, Gandhi said, "We are interested in results on the issue of terrorism."
Gandhi, who is also in-charge of Youth Congress, said he is working to build youth wing of the party as a totally democratic organisation by holding elections in them.
"I am trying to attract maximum youths to politics and nation building exercise," Gandhi said, adding that he wanted to build Youth Congress cadre democratically from a stretch.
"It (Youth Congress) will be a complete democratic organisation which no other party has done so far," he added.
Speaking on M S University withdrawing permission to hold his programme in its campus, Gandhi said, "they might have tried to stop me but I went there and talked to so many youngsters and students and I had better time talking and getting their feedback on various issues."
When asked about his Valentine, Gandhi said, "I do not believe in Valentine's Day, at the same time I have no problem with people celebrating it. There should not be one day to show that you care for somebody."
Speaking on National Knowledge Commission report, he said, “it is forward looking report and must be implemented for improving education system of the country."

The image of BJP may be improved if Advaniji withdraw his claim to be PM. one reason is old age and other reasons are such as he again brings "RAM TEMPLE" issue and sometime also he makes speech in favour of hindu and sometimes of Moslem which is not fair. Now the people are interested in "VIKAS" of the country and the issues should be of the facilities to be given to people such as roads transport water education food(which can bew avaoilabe at reasonable affordable price as well as employment amenities in cities as well as in villages etc.Advaniji have also differences with his party leaders. No body would know who is Rahul if the tag of "Gandhi" is removed from his name. Does the press get paid by the congress party for him to be projected as the future leader of the country? Can he compete with the likes of Arun Jaitley or Kapil Sibal in terms of commanding fluency in the subjects as diverse as electoral management, legal acuemanship and political sagacity. The words " SECULAR AND COMMUNAL " only to fool the voters and get votes and enjoy power, amass wealth and properties for the politicians and their family members and relatives. In fat most SECULAR religion is HINDUISM, JAINISM, BUDDHISM etc as it allows all people to be happy. Caste system has come up only based on professions liked by people and their attitude only. Rahul Gandhi is taking time in maturing as a politician as at times he says that "Had the Gandhi family were ruling India in 1992 Babri structure would not have been pulled down" or the recent poverty tourism trip with David Miliband to UP, while on the other hands Congress psycophants and chamchas are becoming restless.
