Ranchi, February 14: "If possible, I will go to Mumbai to perform Chhat Puja," Railway Minister Lalu Prasad said.

Prasad, who was in Ranchi to address the 'Chetna' rally organised by his party - the RJD, made the comment when he was asked by newspersons about the alleged anti-North India statements by leaders of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

Condemning the provocative 'unconstitutional' statements of MNS leader Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, Prasad said people of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand staying in Mumbai were afraid of venturing out of their homes.

There were also reports of misbehaviour with a woman on a train, he said adding the Mumbai Police Commissioner had spoken to him on phone.

Prasad said he had spoken to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi on the issue.

"A vase does not look beautiful with one rose, it requires a bunch of different flowers. The country is just like a vase," he said, adding he would work for the unity of the country.

"There is no place for those people spreading disharmony and hurting the social fabric," he added.

Lalau must stop cauing trouble and mind his business by DILIP/FRANCE on 16 Feb 2008

Abe Lalu, first learn to control your sons, who have compulsive habit of eveteasing and molesting young women, then go on penance for all your sins and pains you have caused to the poor Biharis,by robbing their monies and wealth.Leave the Chhat puja for the good Hindus, you stick to what you do best bullshitting.

moral compromise more important than stubborn attitude---- by romesh.sharma on 15 Feb 2008

If Rah Thakeray is spreading hate, which he infact doesn't,what message is being sent by Lalu P Yadav! Apparently Lalu is adding fuel to the fire by tactfully used words. He is coward and will not dare to do chhat Puja without high security cover. The people there don't have that kind of protection. Moreover how timidly he says "If Possible".Instead of telling the Bihari migrants to respect the traditional values of the place and do the best to integrate he is giving the feelings that they were suppressed.I can bet Raj will never object to carry on any Puja or celebrate any religious festival but definitely will ask to observe the decency and discipline for not to hurt the sentiments of the locals. Why can't the migrants invite the local people and share the festivities and Pujas.Lalu has to read the constitution and try to understand the meaning of the Articles relating to the unity of the country. Why under this constitution there is special status to some states? Why people have to take special Passes/permission to visit states like Arunachal,Mizoram,Meghalaya,Sikkim,J

Lalu is adding salt to injury. But such irresponsible leaders should not be elected in first place. Leaders mirror the voters that elect them. Shame on you Lalu. Learn on how to speak and behave. We should remove such dirty people from polictics.

Admire Lalu.. by SKhan on 15 Feb 2008

Lalu is very correct here, i admire him for giving a blunt msg to other hopeless politicians.

I will go to Mumbai to perform Chhat Puja by Paramjeet Singh on 15 Feb 2008

- Unity of the nation is based Emotional Integration. Disintegration leads to weaken the unity. It can not be repaired by any means and protected by any weapon. - Our leads enhance the targets of enemy courtiers. Perhaps, they are being paid for it.
