Dubai The Chief Executive Committee meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) will discuss on Wednesday if weather conditions in Sri Lanka are 'appropriate' to hold Champions Trophy in the island nation.

The CEC meeting will be held via teleconference and will make recommendation to the ICC Board, who will take a final decision on March 16.

The elite tournament, promoted as mini world cup, is scheduled for September/October this year.

The ICC Board in its last meeting in Perth had taken away the tournament from Pakistan. Sri Lanka was the reserve venue for the event.

"During its teleconference, the CEC will also consider dates for next year's ICC World Twenty20 tournament, to be staged in the West Indies," an ICC statement said.

The CEC comprises the chief executives of the 10 Test-playing Members and three representatives from ICC Associate Members.

It is chaired by the ICC Chief Executive. The ICC President and the Chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee also attend the meeting.
