Ludhiana, October 31 Ludhiana-based International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO) organised a panthic meet today.

The members deliberated on ways to resolve the political crisis in SAD (A). They also formed a five-member committee comprising Justice Ajit Singh Bains, D S Gill, Dr Gurdarshan Singh Dhillon, Karamjit Singh and Karnail Singh Pirmohamed. The objective of the committee is to implement the resolutions passed in the meeting. For this purpose, the committee will meet the leaders of all splinter Sikh political groups.

Fourteen Sikh groups and many advocates, Sikh scholars and journalists attended the meeting held at Circuit House here. The representatives expressed anguish over the political situation in the state.

They also felt that the Sikh political leadership has distanced itself from Gurbani and Guru Gaddi Raah. They stated that the so-called representative body of Sikhs, the traditional Akali leadership, has mortgaged itself to the RSS and BJP for sharing power.

The members observed that the ‘Panthak’ leaders are busy in slogan-mongering, thus misleading the Sikh Panth. They have failed in organising the Panth, and nor have they given any consistent, relevant programme to face the challenges facing the society today, the members said.
