IIM-C salaries see over 17 per cent rise, touch Rs 1 cr

Kolkata, March 13 Forget the fat salaries graduates of IIM-Calcutta get abroad. Students this year have been given a hike of over 17 per cent compared to last year's average salary of 14.17 lakh, according to the institute officials.

Salaries this year have shot up significantly with multiple offers crossing the Rs 1-crore mark.

The highest salary, till last year, had been in the range of Rs 65 to Rs 70 lakh per annum by a leading international investment bank in India. The highest offer this year for an IIM-C students has been Rs 1.36 crore, made by a leading international investment bank.

The placement procedure at IIM-C began on March 8 and within four days over 290 students were placed, reaffirming the fact that the institute is the most sought after campus for recruiters from India and abroad.

This year 107 companies visited the institute.

"A record 22 new companies were a part of the placement process this year, which is a testimony to the fact that the managerial talent of the students of IIM-Calcutta is widely recognised" said professor S D Moitra, chairperson, Placement Committee, IIM-Calcutta.

A total of 243 offers had already been made to the students before the beginning of the final placements. This included 153 offers made during the lateral process and the 90 pre-placement offers were awarded for excellent performance during the summer internship.

    As members of a "social bookmarking" community, del.icio.us sers can also see how many other people have bookmarked the same pages, and they can look at those users' bookmark collections to find other interesting online content.

    Reddit

    Reddit allows users to submit news articles and other online content to the site. Users also give articles a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. Reddit then uses those votes to build a user profile and to find articles to recommend to you. Users can also submit comments on items posted to the site.
