Kolkata, July 3: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA)'s bid for the 2020 Olympic Games in Pune was going on the right track and much will depend on the success of 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games to be held from October 12-18, association President Suresh Kalmadi said on Thursday.

"I've no doubt that with the world class facilities available at Balewadi complex, Pune will ensure the bidding for the 2020 Games," Kalmadi said expressing satisfaction with the infrastructure facilities at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sport Complex, Balewadi which will be the venue for the CYG.

"Till today, as many as 15-20 foreign delegates visited Pune to see the facilities available...and they were very much impressed.

In fact, a Canadian delegation expressed intention to train their sportpersons in Pune in preparation for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Kalmadi said.

Even some of the European countries expressed desire to train their sportspersons in Pune during the winter seasons, Kalmadi, who is also the Chairman of the organising committee of CYG (2008) and CG (2010), said from Pune.

Kalmadi was in his hometown for a function, which marked the countdown for the CYG.

With 101 days to go for the CYG, the Pune Divisional Commissioner, Nitin Kareer, on Thursday handed over the key of the new ultra-modern sports complex at Balewadi.

Kareer said of the nine stadia, the facilities at six have been completed while for other three areas, namely badminton, the laying of synthetic track at the athletics venue and final shooting range will be completed by July 31.
