Ludhiana, November 30 Judicial Magistrate Ist Class (JMIC) Ranjan Khullar today sent Rakesh Patel alias Rocky, arrested by police yesterday in Gujarat in connection with Rs 3 crore immigration fraud, to police remand for three days till Monday.

Police today produced Rakesh Patel before the court. It was stated that six directors of Euro International Group had fled away after defrauding about 200 persons. The company had opened its office near Samrala Chowk, and had offered assured immigration to UK through advertisements published in various newspapers.

The company charged an amount of Rs 1.70 lakh and gave people work permits ‘issued’ by an office at London. Later these work permits were found to be factitious. The police had booked six directors including Rakesh Patel, Kishore Kumar, Mohan Lal, Rafique Ahmad, Raj Kumar and Sahil, on the statements of about 134 victims in a case of fraud and cheating.
