Ludhiana DMCH doctor awarded Addenbrooke’s fellowship
Dr Puneet Aulakh Pooni (Associate Professor of Paediatrics at DMCH) has recently completed a one year fellowship in the Paediatric intensive care at Cambridge University Hospital (Addenbrooke’s Hospital), UK. She is the first paediatrician of the region to have been offered the prestigious fellowship in the most reputed university. She was sponsored by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London, for General Medical Council registration on the basis of her work in this field.

Lecture on urology
The Rotary Club organised a lecture on common urinary problems. Dr Baldev Singh Aulakh, Professor of Urology and Transplant Surgery, Head of the Transplant Unit, delivered a lecture on common urinary problems and kidney failure at the Rotary Club. The lecture started with a general introduction to the anatomy and the functioning of our urinary system. This was followed by a detailed discussion of the common pathological conditions that affect our urinary system especially kidney stones, prostatic enlargement, urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder and kidney failure. Dr Aulakh stressed on the early detection and optimum management of these conditions to prevent long term serious complications.

Medical camp held
A free medical camp was organised by Ludhiana Retail Chemist Association and Hero Charitable Trust at Johny Jain Hospital at New Lajpat Nagar on Sunday. On this occasion, Amandeep Ahuja was the chief guest and inaugurated the indoor-patient ward of the hospital while councillor Bharat Bhushan Ashu was the guest of honour. A team of doctors checked around 300 patients.
