Akram said the Aussies were "sore losers" and that Hayden should have known that India was now hundred years ahead of Australia "which is no more than a village".
"The thing about the Aussies is that they are sore losers. They get personal when they get beaten. It is all a matter of sour grapes and after going home, they've started calling India a third-world country", said Akram.
"India is a superpower now; it is a hundred years ahead of Australia, which is no more than a village, as compared to India. You don't blame sightscreens for poor over rates. Even Allan Border was critical of Australian tactics on the pitch," Akram said.
Akram's stinging reaction came a day after the BCCI reacted strongly to Hayden's remark, saying such a comment about India was totally uncalled for from the Australian opener.
Back home after the 2-0 series defeat, Hayden spoke about, what he perceived, poor ground conditions and inordinate delays during the matches "that happen in Third World countries".
"This was a completely uncalled for remark by him. A player of his stature should not have made the comment," BCCI's Finance Committee Chairman Rajiv Shukla had said on Friday.
"If slow-over rate is your habit, why blame India for that and call India third world? We are a very prestigious nation and it was not a nice comment by him," Shukla said.
Hayden made a list of things which he felt resulted in Australia's slow over-rates in the series against India. He alleged the Indian batsmen were reluctant to "face up" quickly enough and there was constant movement around sightscreens.
"They (opposition batsmen) are very difficult to get to face up," Hayden said. "Often we find ourselves with hands on hips waiting for someone to either face up or someone in the sightboard to move away; all the little frustrations that happen in Third World countries and the heat as well," he added.

Foolish talk. A real cadre should aceept the defeat honestly, we can't expect the great attitute from such a poor cherecteristics. Sorry guy, show yourself on ground not in door closed interview. Afterall its a game.
TRUE PATRIOTIC SON OF INDIAN UNION. AFTER YOU ARE ALSO A SON OF INDIA.WELL DONE BRAVO
Guys, relax. As one who has worked with Australians, I know they have this chip. They think they are a first-world country while actually they are a nation of Convicts who grew on hand-outs from Britain and other countries. They think they are superior. Tell me one Australian world-product that is world-beating ( apart from Foster beer and the Sydney Opera house). Whether cars or IT or anything, Australians have NOT been able to innovate. To cover up their ignorance plus the fact that most Australians are blooming idiots, they say India is a Third world country. Well, we just put a probe on the Moon. Did Australia do that? No. Can Australia do that? Yes. If they keep their mouths shut and work! BY THE WAY, what about Australia's own native aborigine population. If India is Third world ( which it is not), the aborigines constitute the 25th World. Thanks to the White Australian Invaders.
Dear sir Hayden, you have should audacity to call my country a 3rd world , let me kindly remind you AUSTRALIA IS A FORMER PENAL COLONY and although that has changed with time , the inmates have remained ,aan so has their attitude, so i cant blame you for bad mouthing my country descendent of LORD SYDNEY
If hayden calls us third world country , he has given us right to call aussies the inmates of a penal colony , and you decide now whos comments you want to rely , the culturally astute indians or the inmates
Hayden's proved again that he is just all Brawns and no Brains. Well, what else could we expect after they were soundly trashed and found no place to hide. In fact, he is right in one aspect. They were found with their hands on hips many a time, but it was only because they were bereft of ideas and had lost all hopes of matching the Indians. People like Hayden and most of his compatriots should learn from Akram, who in spite of being one of the fiercest competitors on the cricket field is a thorough Gentleman off it. No wonder he's got many fans in all over the world.May his tribe increase.
Guys dont get angry, pity his upbringing. I feel sorry for him.
Now if that is not a racist comment, I do not know what is!! Kudos to Mr. Akram to take up the case! Surprisingly our Cricketing fraternity and the media are absolute quiet. And the less said about BCCI na the IPL, the better! Remember how after the infamous monkeygate, where Harbhajan was falsely accused of Racism, BCCI dragged its feet for days and took some action only after the players refused to play and how BCCI sponsored IPL paid Rs. 5Crores for the same Symonds. So judging by the past, we are sure to see the same Hayden and Symonds and other 'third world hating' Aussies being given red carpet treatment and crores of rupees to play in IPL.
Australia gave right to vote to its natives only in 1962 whereas all Indians had a right to vote from the moment of Independence in 1947 ,which country is 3rd world by these standards? If India is 3rd world then Hayden

TRUTH ..IN INDIA MORE THAN 75% PEOPLES ARE CRICKET MAD FANS.(.ALMOST EQUAL TO THE POPULATION OF EUROPE...).. INDIAN CRICKET FANS LOVE TO LISTEN THE GOOD, INTERESTING COMENTS ON THEIR HEROES (LIKE SACHIN IS GR8, DHONI LEADS FROM FRONT ETC ETC..,ISHANT IS SO.) IF THE COMENTS BY A OLD SUPERSTARS FROM OTHER COUNTRY (LIKE WASIM AKRAM,WAQAR YUNIS,STEVE WAUGH,FLEMING,CHAPELL ,RICHARD HADLEE ETC ETC) THEN THEY ARE REALLY HAPPY...AND THEY OPENLY GIVE RESPECT TO THESE PEOPLES..THEY ENDORSE THEIR BRANDS...EG : BRETT LEE A HERO IN INDIA.SIMPLY BCOS HE ALWAYS PUTS SACHIN ON TOP... PEOPLE DNT LIKE MGRATH (BETTER BOWLER THAN BRETT LEE) BCOS HE NEVER SPEAKS ON OTHERS,,(HE CAN GET SAME RESPECT OF BRETT LEE..IF HE SAYS ISHANT IS MUCH BETTER BOWLER THAN HIM) NOW HAYDEN
poor baby hayden. crying, let us give them the throphy.
Well said Akram. These Australian guys are known for their unfriendly behaviour, barring a few greats like Border, Waugh etc. Let these guys suggest to ICC and snap their cricketing ties with THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES!!!!! These guys should first respect the opponents. They should attend some special courses as to how to talk, what to talk etc. These guys go on giving interviews to Press and Media, which are nothing but non-sense and one such foolish statement is the one given by Heyden. I totally agree with you that when compared to India, they are nothing and they have to come running to India for their earnings. Mr Heyden, if you have any sort of self-respect, please don't ever visit our THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. We don't want to see your cricket any longer in our soil.
Australia have always been and will continue to be sore losers. Having been at the top of world cricket for some time, the fact that other nations are catching up and that they are not quite what they used to be is something they have to get used to. An interesting thing in the India-Australia series was that quite a few wickets - 26 between ishant sharma and zaheer khan - were taken by the Indian seamers. It wasn't as if the pitches were dirt bowls that started spinning from day one. Blaming the movements around the sightscreen, heat etc is being childish. BCCI should use its power to deny Hayden a chance in the IPL.
Unfortunately, Australians are not only lousy losers but also habit of bad mouthing of any opposition. If India is third world and bad sight screens and poor facilities, why he chose to play twenty twenty. Is payment of dollars smells roses making one forget all these now seen poor facilities in big screen after losing comprehensively.r.k.Next time, you will hear that whenever Australia played, increased height stumps were used and when India Played stumps were shorter in length.
Thank you Waseem, for standing up for fellow subcontinenters,... and for fairness. Listern fellow Indians, no matter how bad Hindu and Muslim terrorits try there are more people in the subcontinent who think above the level of religion. Rest is just politics to provoke the masses and get the votebank. Though Pakis are Indiabashing generally the rise of India has definitely given some amount of dream for themselves.
That's a difference between a good human and an arrogant monkey.Wasim is pakistani player and one of the greates player of our generation, even we indians repect him a lot, because he is a nice person on and off the field. On the other hand hayden has no respect here and his behaviour on and off the field is shameful. He does'nt know what he is talking and what would be consequnces. He is geting millions of dollars from IPL,even they are ready to take early retirement to earn all this.Still they are saying that india is a 3rd world country...what a rubbish is that.Is he lost his common sense.IPL should ban such foolish player who doesn't even respect the country from where he is earning like hell.
Thanks Wasim for those brave words.
I THINK WASIM AKRAM LIKE MANY PAKISTANIS HAVE A LOT OF RESPECT FOR INDIA PARTICULARLY AT THIS MOMENT WHEN INDIA IS GETTING NOTICED ALL OVERWE HAVE TO APPRECIATE THE GRACIOUSNESS
hayden is a poorfellow, his comments after he is leave india. hayden is ashame person.
Hayden, we are not at your beck and call . You want to shift the screen , do it urself . We are your masters and not here to serve you.
HAYDEN SAYS,"THE TEAM HAD ONE HAND ON THE HIP AND THE OTHER ONE ON THERE MOUTH, HENCE THEY COULD NOT BOWL INDIA OUT AND ON TOP OF IT OUR TEAM HAD THIRD RATE FIELDING.
Wow! Has the sun risen from the west? Former Pakistani captain praising us and calling us a superpower? Either he's really gracious, or maybe the impending bankruptcy across the broder has brought about some respect for us!
