The Foreign Office handed over a list of Pakistan's nuclear installations and facilities to an official of the Indian High Commission at 11 am here.
In New Delhi, the Indian side handed over its list to an official of the Pakistan High Commission at the External Affairs Ministry.
The two sides also exchanged fresh lists of prisoners being held in each other's jails, officials said.
The exchange of lists of atomic facilities is done on January 1 every year under the "Agreement between India and Pakistan on Prohibition of Attack Against Nuclear Installations and Facilities", which was signed in 1988 and ratified in 1991.
Officials from both sides had earlier said that the tension sparked by the Mumbai terror attacks would not affect the exchange of the nuclear lists, which is done as routine every year.
According to the agreement signed on December 31, 1988, Pakistan and India have to inform each other on January 1 every year about the nuclear installations and facilities to be covered by the pact.
Islamabad and New Delhi had exchanged lists of prisoners being held in each other's jail but both sides had subsequently expressed reservations about these lists. During talks here between home secretaries of the two countries in November, they agreed to exchange fresh lists of prisoners.
Further details about the number of prisoners being held in the two countries were not immediately available.

I blame Congress jehadis who are involved in the bombing of all our cities with their ties with the paki terrorists. How can the people of India trust this foolish and weak government. Instead of jailing these criminals they are exchanging the country's vital information. We are still waiting for some action on the part of these greedy selfish ministers. I wish some grenades fall on them by these terrorists and then they will wake up. Common people we have to stop them from ruling us and our country demand Army rule and get them off their posts. They are main culprits who are misusing their power and have been playing blame game for a month. We have a live bomb what else do you want. Indians 18 and above go out and vote take everybody along and vote. Do not laze or make excuses of long lines etc. take a day off for every vote counts. Or you will be torture by the congress gandhi and mafias. They first killed Sikhs and now Hindus. Get them out of your hair. Amarnath should be first.
India has played right into Pakistani hands by giving them a list of our nuclear facilities. Now they can send out their friendly terrorists to create havoc for us. As per my mind both sides are fooling each other.There is zero trust between them and these are only foolish formalities which they observe and its all on papers.Pakistan will never give the exact position/location of its installations but India,as per its idiotic records may do so which is of very dangerous consequences.Establishing friedship or normalcy with neighbours at the cost of secrets,security and defence is blunder of weak minds and diplomacy.This and overturers like this had been contra-productive.Still keep on hoping any thing good is mere illusionary and self-deception.As its said no news is good and so is with Pak No relation/communication is the best.
Why did Indian Government divulge information regarding Nuclear Installations to another country? Which other country has done like this? It only makes easy for Pakistan to attack and destroy that we have built with our blood and sweat. You cannot trust this country. Since its birth through a traitor called Jinnah, they have tried all possible means to destroy our county. Yes, we have to learn a lot from Israel about patriotism and courage to safegauard our country.
Does Pakistan first of all have any nuclear missiles in working conditions. They havent tested one missile from past many years. The missiles would've become old and rusted. In that case India needn't bother abt their missiles
Yes Pakistan does have few bought/acquired from China through back-track channel NKorea.Having and putting them into effective operation is big question for Pakis.They fail know-how and most important Fuel and money.China had recently refused to help and Pak has lost credibility around the world.These nuke heads are so to say like dummies and if explode it will be on Pakistan soil itself.

did we have same exchange of information with china too??......why we are as par with pakistan only???.........have china this much influence on pakistan so that they can see our list of installation, with the help of pakistan???..........would pakistan help china in this??
This is utter foolishness on the part of India! India should not divulge these details to an enemy/terrorist country like Pakistan. Dont expect, in return, Pakistan will provide the true list of their nuclear installations! India will give all details to this terrorist country, and it will only help them to destroy it in the event of a war! And at the same time, India will be looking around to identify their installations which they may be hiding without divulging to India! This congress govt. is equally dangerous like a terrorist organization!
I dont think India and Pakistan have given the real list of their nuclear installations and facilities each other. Then why we should worry about all these things. By the way what India and Pakistan will do with nuclear factilities if both country loose its inhabitants in war ????
Ramesh Kumar is absolutely right. Why are we making fools of ourselves. Besides, why and who on earth gives our politicians the right to prove that they are treading the Gandhian path and jeopardise the security and lives of Indian citizens. If Gandhian path is to be adhered to, then there is no need for any nuclear weapons. And if not, then why divulge our secrets? Can any body trust a snake? Why are our politicians trying to be so masochistic? Sometimes, I feel ashamed to think the type of people we have elected to be executives of our country. Come on, learn lessons from Israel.
I don't think, there is any foolishness in giving the details to Pakistan; There is a serious threat of war and only by this agreement, can we avoid an unimaginable 'calamity'. On misusing these details, is the least thing they will do, but surely that is a threat. But there is no options left for us than this agreement in the brisk of a war.
