Srinagar Welcoming Indo-Pakistan talks, JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik today said the two countries should engage in a time-bound dialogue to resolve the Kashmir issue.

"We welcome any step taken towards resolution of Kashmir issue but no one can deny the fact that dialogue has failed in the past," Malik said in a statement here.

"The need of the hour is that the two countries start a serious, meaningful and time-bound dialogue for resolution of Kashmir issue to ensure a peaceful South Asian region," he said.

He said New Delhi and Islamabad should include the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the dialogue process for finding a durable solution.

Malik lashed out at opposition parties in both countries for making statements against the dialogue process for resolution of Kashmir issue.

"When they are in power, they talk big about resolution of Kashmir issue and dialogue process but now they are criticising it," he said.

The talks about Pak-occupied Kashmir are also necessary.

Indo-Pak talks by Dr Raghav N. Bhatnagar on 25 Jun 2011

Kashmir is not a piece of meat up for grabs. Kashmir should be where it benefits the most economically and its stability is assured. Pakistan has always raised the issue of Kashmir but they have not solved the problems of the Kashmir they still hold. In Pakistan there is lack of stability, terrorism is rooted in its soil and its own security is threatened by those who want Islamic laws in the state and despise the present democratic government. How can Pakistan claim Kashmir. The whole country of Pakistan is divided between the haves and the have nots and the have nots join the terrorist movement to justify their existence. With Kashmir part of India they have a place in the world but not with Pakistan. Thank you. Dr Raghav N Bhatnagar USA
