India grouped with PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona

Kolkata, May 8 India found themselves in Group A with PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona and Flamengo in the Champions Youth Cup while host Malaysia has been grouped with Ajax Amsterdam, Chelsea and AC Milan in the championship. The 16-team under-19 youth soccer championship to be held from August 5 to 16 will see four Asian teams from India, Qatar, China and hosts Malaysia that will be vying for the title alongside the likes of defending champions Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern Munich, among others.

Indian colts who have resumed training from May 1 along with the undr-17 probables in Goa from May 1 under the careful observation of British coach Colin Toal will have a tough job while envisaging renowned teams like PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona and Flamengo in Group A. The group league matches are set to be played in Kuantan while Group B which will feature the hosts will play their games in Penang. Group C, based in Malacca, comprises Olympic Lyon, Bayern Munich, River Plate and Qatar, and Kuala Terengganu is the place to go to see Manchester United, Porto, Juventus and China in action in Group D. The semi-finals and final will be played in Kuala Lumpur.

The groupings: Group A: PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Flamengo, India. Group B: Ajax Amesterdam, Chelsea, AC Milan, Malaysia.

Group C: Olympic Lyon, Bayern Munich, River Plate, Qatar.

Group D: Porto, Manchester United, Juventus, China.
