New Delhi Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday said India reserved the right to take military action if its territory was under threat.

"I am neither making any comment on military options. What I am saying is every sovereign country has its right to protect its territorial integrity and take appropriate action as and when it feels necessary," Mukherjee told a TV channel.

Pranab said that it would be difficult to carry on in peace process with Pakistan started in 2004 unless Islamabad took action after the deadly attacks on Mumbai.

"We have no intention of not carrying out the peace process," Pranab Mukherjee said.

"If these incidents are not adequately addressed by the other side, it becomes difficult to carry out business as usual and that includes the peace process."
