“Government is fully committed to implement its policy of Zero tolerance against corruption. It is moving progressively to eradicate corruption by improving transparency and accountability,” the Minister of State for the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachouri said in Lok Sabha.
“Measures for strengthening the Anti-Corruption Bureau in various states are taken by the concerned governments while the Centre has decided to strengthen the CBI and departmental vigilance organisations,” he told the lower house.
“This include modernisation and upgradation of infrastructure of the CBI, appointment of CVOs on the recommendations of the CVC, formulation and implementation of annual action plans for vigilance activities through pro-active involvement of various ministries and departments, issuance of comprehensive instructions on transparency in tendering and contacting processes by the CVC,” Pachuri added.

The politicians, especially those in UPA camp, must hang their heads in shame that inspite of their best efforts India stands at 72nd place on the corruption index.

First of all I think whoever has given a report has not given the right report. Can any Indian Citizen tell that corruption has come down. It is only the politicians
55 years of congi rule have established the roots of corruption firmly in to the grounds, thanks to 2.5 years of corruption free Janta Party rule in the 70's and also a corruption free (almost) BJP/NDA rule, as the histroy tells that Indira was the GANGOTRI OF BHRASHTACHAAR
BJP was most corrupt at centre worse than Congress. So many peopoel of BJP were caught for taking bribes. In day to day life also common man always gets rid of law by paying;is routine practice in India. (called GHOOS or HAFTA);why blame only politicians???
HALF HEARTED REPORT, INSTEAD OF JUST GIVING THE READERS SOME SHALLOW INFO, WHY CANT I.E. TELL US WHICH COUNTRY STANDS WHERE IN A TABLE OF WORLD WIDE CORRUPTION, THIS REPORT DOES NOT EVEN TELL US WHERE INDIA WAS IN THE LAST SURVEY, AND HOW INDIA HAS FARED THIS TIME
Good know that India is progressing on CPI. I am sure buy next 5 years it will reach to 30th Rank. As I understand computerization is improving in various Govt. Organization and public became more vigilent about their requirement in time and quality.
