"Pakistan cricket is in its worst phase. Not a single foreign team is willing to play here. It has certainly affected our players' motivation apart from the financial losses," he said from Karachi where he is playing a domestic one-day tournament.
Admitting that Pakistan is on the verge of being isolated in international cricket, Akmal urged India to lend a helping hand.
"Indian cricketers like (Mahendra Singh) Dhoni, Yuvraj (Singh), Irfan Pathan enjoy huge fan following in Pakistan. It will be a great help if India reconsiders it's decision not to tour Pakistan. It will certainly help bring Pakistan cricket back on track," said the cricketer, who has played 40 Tests and 94 ODIs so far.
"It is a great loss not only for our cricketers but cricket lovers as well. They could not see their favourite players playing here. It is regretful."
Akmal said reluctance of top teams like India, Australia and South Africa's to visit Pakistan has affected the morale of the players and the situation has worsened after the Lahore attack.
"If India, Australia and South Africa continue to avoid Pakistan than cricket will not survive here. Domestic tournaments do not get spectators. Stadiums are empty during the ongoing domestic one-day tournament. Players do not have any motivation," he said.
Akmal said playing at neutral venues was not the solution to Pakistan cricket's woes.
"PCB will get money from TV rights and title sponsorship but that is not enough. Financial losses will affect domestic structure in Pakistan cricket and we won't get good cricketers. So it will have long term impacts," said the 27-year-old player.

Mr.Akmal, Even islam condemns suicide. Who would risk coming to Pakistan and commit suicide. Next time you request anything from us Indians, pls try to be more reasonable.

i agree with akmal, we shoudl help Pakistan by our generosity and helpful brotherly attitude if we want to isolate the extremists who will use our indifference to justify their agendathis is the time to realize that pakistan society is in trouble and need all the help we can extend without ignoring the nefarious designs of their thinkers who bear unforgivable grudge against india.a bold gesture of goodwill is neededwe should offer to train their youth in technical skills and wean them away from unproductive and wasteful activities. time for bold initiatives indeed, let cricketers help build bridges between tow societies at war, almostanil
Nobody will tour Pak and nobody can help Pakistan. The risk is too great, when one sees the horrible experiences and conditions in Pak. To add to their troubles, the mutiny of the BDR jawans, which was set up and supported by Pak's ISI, has made it unsafe for the Paki cricketers to tour Bangladesh.
let pakistan suffer. why we should bother!
i truly support kamran akmal...it is high time to support pakistan cricket..and why not?if lalit modi is trying so hard for his ipl(though purely for monetary reasons than sports)..its a good time for india to give a supporting hand to pakistan ..lets go in pakistan and play..but pakistanis also need to support this cause as sri lankan cricketer's experience didnt leave a good example ...what about pakistan playing in india to start with ..........
As far as I am concerned no Pakistani Cricketer has condemned the Mumbai or Kabul Embassy attack. Given that what makes it likely for India to go in to the danger zone and revive Pakistani Cricket? India has never been the enemy of Pakistan and many Indians want Pakistan to succeed economically, culturally, sports wise, and practice their religion peacefully while allowing others in the country to do the same whether they are Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, or other Muslim brothers like the Shias. Pakistan and its people have been poisoned for years with respect to India despite its secular government, despite its helping hand at the time of Partition realeasing money for the survival of the state. It is Pakistanis themselves who are to blame for their state. Even now there is no stable government there and they play games with terrorists and extremists allowing Sharia court and negotiating with Taliban. India while wishing Pakistanis all the best should refrain from anymore generosity.
May I respectfully suggest that this is your problem and not ours to solve. Pakistan is virulently anti-India. You cannot expect India to tour Pak when folks from there can come all the way till Bombay and attack hotels. If you have terrorism, you solve it. Don't bring India in.
all that talk about helping pakistan cricket is okay.. but at what cost ? did we not see what happened to Sri Lankan Cricketers ? Fanatics, god save pakistan and pakistanis.
Kamran Akmal needs to get his head examined for thinking that Indian cricketers are safe in Pak.
Hello, Akmal, think about your country first. Let it come in right track. Think about the political stabilty. How can people come there to play? Every where terrorist. Even officials are also connected. Please do not try to suggest any thing that put Indian players in trouble. PAK can not give security any more. Hence plan ro re-build your country. After that we will plan to visit there.
