Pune Forecast valid until the morning of Feb 23. Rain/Thundershowers at:

East: mainly dry.

North: a few places: Jammu and Kashmir, isolated places: Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan, mainly dry: Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, east Rajasthan.

Central: mainly dry.

Peninsula: mainly dry.

Islands: isolated places: Nicobar Islands, mainly dry: Andaman Islands, Lakshadweep.

Temperature recorded in four metropolitan centres were:

Kolkata max 33 (+3) dc/min 18 (+1) dc

New Delhi max 30 (+5) dc/min 13 (+2) dc

Chennai max 31 (nil) dc/min 24 (-3) dc

Mumbai max 34 (+4) dc/min 21 (nil)

The cyclonic circulation extending upto 2.1 kms a.s.l. over Punjab and neighbourhood persists and now extends upto 1.5 kms a.s.l. Another cyclonic circulation extending upto 2.1 kms a.s.l. lies over west Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan. Above two Systems are likely to move eastnortheastwards. The western disturbance as an upper air system extending upto mid tropospheric levels Jammu and Kashmir and neighbourhood is moving away northeastwards.

Night temperatures were markedly below normal in some parts of north interior Karnataka and were appreciably normal in some parts of Rayalaseema and were below normal in some parts of south interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Sikkim, west and northeast Rajasthan, south Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, north Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and in some parts of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Marathwada and were above normal in coastal Orissa, Konkan and Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and in some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Realised rainfall and chief amounts (in cms) during past 24 hrs at:

East: mainly dry.

North: many places: Jammu and Kashmir, mainly dry: Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan. Banihal 0.6, Srinagar 0.4, Quazigund 0.3.

Central: mainly dry.

Peninsula: mainly dry.

Islands: mainly dry.
